I finally got around to taking pictures.

These are the same models I've been posting about above. I've since gotten a lot more stuff, but these guys are the only ones fully painted. I'm pretty pleased with them for my first attempt at painting minis. I took the photos with an iPhone 4s placing them in my homemade woefully under lit light box. There was some cropping and basic touch ups done with Google+'s photo tools.

Panoramic of the squad. I need to get better at photography and pick up more lights for my light box.

Next up is the SGT my dog got a hold of. It took lots of therapy and things won't be the way they once were, but he'll walk again. At some point I'm going to replace his missing chainsword.

Had an excellent game of X-Wing yesterday, playing 100 points. Made a ton of mistakes and ended up paying for it in the end (kill the stuff which is easy to kill first, then knock out the tugboat). Still, had a lot of fun!

If Episode VII manages to return my love and interest in Star Wars I'll have to give X-Wing a try. I looked at ST: Attack Wing since I heard it's mostly the same game but with Trek, but man those ships look like garbage. Really disappointed with WizKids for those.

A couple of weeks ago I played my first game of 40k. 525 points Orks vs Dark Angels. It was a Maelstrom of War mission with tatical objectives, and I had a lot of fun. Now I just need to pain more, so I can stop looking at grey and monotone minis.

I was talking with my fellow X-Wing player about Attack Wing on Saturday. He says that AW is more of a slug fest and less about maneuverability. Personally, I LOVE the way the dials work and how important they are to the game/tactics.

Oh, and did you see the ships for the Scum faction they'll be bringing out? Yes, a third faction!!

IG88's ship and Prince Xizor's ship... so cool! The Mandalore ship (second from the right) looks pretty awesome too.

Is that first one a Z-95?

Yes. They've already released the Z-95 previously, but this one is an alternative paint job and is going to be part of the scum and villainy's Most Wanted pack which will have two of them in addition to an alternatively painted Y-Wing and a new Boba Fett set of cards for the Firespray.

But WOW! Xizor's ship looks fantastic!

    The M3-A looks great too.

    And IG-88's ship.

Oh yeah, good ol' Scyk making a return. Takes me right back to my starter days as a neutral pilot in Star Wars Galaxies.

I won't trouble with a third fraction in X-Wing for myselves, though those new models really do look great.
I've already started to save money for the announced Star Wars Armada next year.

Well, it finally happened. I've decided to give my 40k minis to a friend of mine. Everything 40k or Fantasy will be going with him. To be honest, it's a bit of a relief as it's just taking up space now.

However, I am getting Star Wars Imperial Assault as soon as it is released (base game is $70 preorder at Cool Stuff Inc) and will be painting those minis, which look fantastic. It's been a long break and I can't wait to get back to painting minis I'm passionate about.

Ok, so I've been doing nothing lately. As such, I've begun painting my Imperial Assault stuff. Give me a couple days and I should have a decent amount of models painted up and posted.

Those look amazing. The AT-ST is close to looking like a prop model. What scale are they?

Not really sure as they don't talk about it anywhere. If I had to guess, 1/30?

And yeah, the detail on these is fantastic. The faces on the officers could be a little better, but other than that, spot on.

I like most of the sculpts except for Vader, he seems a little puny.

Well, it is an action pose where he's attacking and his legs are bent quite a bit.

Thanks! Little details I could do, but I noticed they tend to not be noticed at the distances we look at them.

Never expected to be painting a GW property again, but picked up the game Forbidden Stars put out by Fantasy Flight. Since they come in very basic colors, you know I just had to do something with it!

Went pretty simplistic with it, but I'm happy with the results. There are a LOT of models with this game, and I'd like to get it painted quickly.

Been playing with our very low end laser cutter and decided to make a light box. This could be pretty cool once I put some finishing touches on it.

Ok, I haven't done jack squat in ages really. But I am working on some laser cut stuff-

Hopefully I can fix the parts I'm not happy with. Will update as I go.

Can you fix the broken images, too? Or is this another case of that Photobucket thing?

Done! They were just bad links there. The other links earlier in the thread I have no idea why those have broken.

What was the problem? I've been playing around with a laser cutter and might be able to make a suggestion or two.

The width of the laser means it takes a LONG time. The small counters above are smaller than a dime.
