Help An Aussie Kick Some ASS!!

Okay, so at work as part of a social thing to get people to not want to rip each others throats out, we had a football tipping comp for the AFL. Since that has just wound down somebody suggested an NFL tipping comp as well. I decided to join in this one and maybe make a few bucks.

Only problem is I dont know anything about who is in from and who isnt, and the money isnt in the big enough region for some major research so here is my theory:
I shall make my tips and post my first draft here, everyone puts their 2 cents in and I make adjustments and submit the new and improved tips and win money!!!

Even if you don't want to help I will still post my picks and you can all laugh at how badly I will score.
Without further ado, and even less research here is my picks for NFL Round 1 (picks in bold):

MIN @ NO Superdome
Sun, Sep 12 Stadium Time (ET)
DEN @ JAC Jacksonville Municipal Stadium

DET @ CHI Soldier Field
ATL @ PIT Heinz Field
MIA @ BUF Ralph Wilson Stadium
CAR @ NYG New Meadowlands Stadium
GB @ PHI Lincoln Financial Field
ARI @ STL Edward Jones Dome
SF @ SEA Qwest Field

If you want I can give reasons for each.

My method was pick the team if i have heard of them before, or if I have heard of neither...pick the coolest sounding name :p
Thanks for the input though dave....and if you ever get into an aussie footy tipping comp let me know. I can sure help you out there.

lolwut?
Not sure what you mean but rules are, most right each week scores $10. If it's a draw then the money jackpots till the next week until one person wins it. End of the season is something like
1st 60% of money in the kitty
2nd 20%
3rd 15%
Last 5%
Not certain though. The AFL comp 3rd place got $50 bucks.

He was wondering if you were betting on a specific team to win or if the bet was against the betting point spread. For example, New Orleans is a 4.5 point favorite over Minnesota. If you were betting against the spread, New Orleans would have to win by 5+ points.

But since you didn't know what this was I'm going out on a limb and saying it's straight up.

Detroit is going to crush Chicago IMO. Also never pick Oakland to win anything other than a shootout.

In my opinion it should be:

MIN @ NO - NEW ORLEANS
DEN @ JAC - DENVER (close game)
OAK @ TEN - TENNESSEE
CIN @ NE - CINCINATTI (close game)
CLE @ TB - CLEVELAND (close game)
IND @ HOU - INDIANAPOLIS
DET @ CHI - CHICAGO (close game)
ATL @ PIT - ATLANTA (close game)
MIA @ BUF - MIAMI
CAR @ NYG - NEW YORK GIANTS
GB @ PHI - GREEN BAY
ARI @ STL - ARIZONA
SF @ SEA - SAN FRANCISCO
DAL @ WAS - DALLAS
BAL @ NYJ - BALTIMORE (close game)
SD @ KC - SAN DIEGO

There are a lot of close games, though, so it's tough. Good luck!

I think the Giants/Carolina game is going to be pretty close, too. I disagree with the Detroit over Chicago, though. The Chicago DEF is going to be too tough and their offense is improved. And although I think it's going to be close, Cincy over NE is a bit of a stretch. Tom Brady is healthy again.

Round 1 is over, And I'm in the lea with 11. Equal first, not too shabby.
Round 2 is here (my picks in bold):

BAL @ CIN
Paul Brown Stadium

CHI @ DAL
Cowboys Stadium

PHI @ DET
Ford Field

ARI @ ATL
Georgia Dome

KC @ CLE
Cleveland Browns

TB @ CAR
Bank of America Stadium

MIA @ MIN
Mall of America Field

PIT @ TEN
LP Field

BUF @ GB
Lambeau Field

STL @ OAK
Oakland Coliseum

SEA @ DEN
Invesco Field at Mile High

HOU @ WAS
FedEx Field

NE @ NYJ
New Meadowlands

JAC @ SD
Qualcomm Stadium
NYG @ IND
Lucas Oil Stadium

NO @ SF
Candlestick Park

So how terrible are my picks this week?
