[Gaming] Elder Scrolls 5 - Dawnguard is HERE!

That post didn't give that impression at all. They're having difficulties with it, but they are investing time in it, which would be stupid if they never plan on putting it out.
It does say they've been working on it. It also says it's a problem they aren't certain they can solve, that they are doing what they can but it may not ever get fixed.

As I understand it, it's not a matter of not wanting to put it on ps3, but rather not being able to do so in a stable way. Also that post was back in August and I don't believe there has been any update regarding it since.

The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.
PS3 software is notoriously wonky, so hopefully at some point they'll get it done.

I like how one of the Obsidian guys came out and said that it was a conflict of how the PS3 hardware works and how Gamebryo does thing and Bethesda immediately responded that he was full of shit and didn't know what he's talking about and he was wrong because Skyrim is different and all that nonsense and of course it turns out he was right on the money. I think there is literally nothing they can do about it at this point without the dropping Gamebryo and building a new engine from scratch for the PS3.

Bethesda should be strung up for releasing a product they knew was fucking going to break on PS3.

The entirety of the "tweet" upon which your rage is focused is this:" "Full trailer on 11/5" and then image link.
It's not like they release 30 seconds of the trailer and called it a trailer for a trailer.
They said, hey, we are gonna show you the trailer in a few days, here's a cool pic to get you excited.

So, seriously? This is the thing that is pissing us video game nerds off today?

Looks cool, nice to see the Morrowind architecture with Skyrim graphics. Bloodmoon was an amazing expansion for Morrowind, hopefully Dragonborn can live up to it.

It seemed to be a widespread problem, but it depended on your data cache. It was also fixed in the next patch.

My wife and I always cringe when there's a new patch. The pre-Dawnguard one didn't seem to introduce any problems.
I just got the PS3 version for Christmas. Water still locks the game, apparently. Happened twice so far today.

Dont know. But I can't get this to run.She never appears at the "Bannered Mare".Once I am back from Vacation im gonna reinstall Skyrim and Dawnguard and see if I can get it to run then.

Anyone having problems with the most recent build of SKSE? Since it's been a while, I went through and updated my mods as well as SKSE (and yes, I followed the directions in the readme.txt file), but I can't get the launcher to work. It throws an error message (which I can't precisely copy since I'm at work) that tells me that the dll cannot be found, and the path in the message is invalid. The path that SKSE seems to be seeking out has a double \ in it at one spot (i.e. "Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\\data"). My Google-fu is failing me (as well as taking me to some very nsfw page results for people complaining about SKSE not working).

I'm having problems too, but it's with my game getting stuck in the loading screens. Did Skyrim recently patch so it's just the modders catching up?

<sigh> Looks like it. The UESPwiki patch page shows the most recent update being released to PCs on 11/1/12, and Xbox on 11/16/12, and the latest version of SKSE is compatible with 1.8.151.0, while the current Skyrim build is 1.8.151.0.7.

Seems like kind of a long time for modders to catch up to a small version update, but with the holidays, who knows.

Haven't played since mid last year. I'll prolly start playing again sometime. all the new dlcs go on sale.

I'd say just start with the 3 "Unofficial" patches (skyrim, dawnguard, and hearthfire), or less if you don't have them, and go from there. That'll fix most of the bugs in the game, and is always useful. After that, full personal preference IMO.

I doubt I'm gonna get to see any DLCs until they release a GOTY edition someday.

Been playing off an on with an Orc warrior-type. Recently got in trouble with everyone in Markarth. I sent my lady-love, an Orc from one of their fortresses, off ahead so she'd be safe. Escaped on a stolen horse, killed a dragon while being attacked by Imperials, my bounty going up every minute. When I climbed out of a river, I ran into a courier, delivering me inheritance from a dead loved one--the Orc lady I sent on my way.

Now I'm headed to Whiterun, to get the Companions help in vengeance--killing everyone in Markarth that can die.

I think when I play Skyrim again it's going to be the one with the different starting paths instead of the Dragonborn at the execution one. It's so much better when you write your own path I think.

It is. I didn't hit Whiterun and get the dragons started until mid-20s for this character and I had a lot of fun immersing myself in the world, letting what happened to my character affect how he would react to later situations. An Arkay priest in Falkreath helped him and the altar healed three diseases I'd somehow accumulated at once, so now he's willing to help anyone involved with Arkay. The Forsworn have hounded him relentlessly since leaving Falkreath, so they're on his shitlist along with the Thalmor. And as stated above... Markarth will burn. I only even popped over to start the dragons because having the dragons around is fun, but I couldn't care less about the main quest at this point. Skyrim itself is the real joy.

I mixed that choose your own starting path mod with a mod that undoes a lot of the scaling of the world and adds a lot of enemies from other Elder Scrolls games. It's basically the ultimate masochist mod collection.

Basically made most of the choose your own paths completely unplayable. Just gonna go outside and I've been one shot by a frost wyrm thingy. Ok, that starting area is borked. Lets try this one. I'm a forsworn and, nope, whatever the fuck that was that spawned right next to me is impossible to kill and it one shots me before I can even start running.

As a lover of mage-type characters, I always used a mod that helps balance magic and scale better into late game. It also makes playing unarmored using armor spells a lot more viable. I don't remember the name of it, but there were two super popular magic mods, one of which added tons of crazy spells. This was the other one, since the first really makes playing a mage overpowered.[DOUBLEPOST=1358828117][/DOUBLEPOST]Better Magic was the name of it, it's actually in that list that was posted.
