How to play Left 4 Dead (2).

Hmm... one's I've been interested in that I haven't gotten around to yet...

One 4 Nine
Yama
Haunted Forest
Blood Tracks (I have this installed, haven't gotten to it yet)
Escansion
Suicide Blitz (This has a custom tank!)
Tour of Terror
Lost
Overkill
Warcelona

Oh! And one for the list I've done.

- Questionable Ethics (This is LONG AND HARD. You'll all need your best teamwork to get through.) (It's also not really a Versus Map)

As for my availability, I'm usually available whenever, if I'm not doing ESO or something.
I've been working through playing some of these.

Suicide Blitz: Best I've played thus far. Lots of fun, plus you get a new, awesome, melee weapon.
When you get to the stadium at the end, you get a foam finger to fight with. It makes no sense, but it's so much fun smacking around zombies with a giant foam hand.

Haunted Forest: No. No. NO. Dear God No. Not enough No to Know how much No I want to No. No. Some of the levels are okay, and I like how the ghostly touches gradually increase as you progress, but the final level has one absurdly long rolling crescendo. Even on easy it felt like I was wading through zombies forever. I will never play this on Advanced. I'm not even sure I'd try it on Normal. It's just not worth it.

Yama: I wasn't too fond of the first map, since I kept going around in circles, and had trouble finding my way, but it looked pretty good while I was wandering. The final level also suffers from some difficulty finding the right path, but overall it's an interesting campaign. Not a lot to set it apart mechanically, but it's one of the better looking maps, by far.

Also, Energy Crisis. I had fun with this one. Probably worth a run through with a group.

Bad Neighborhood. What it says on the tin: BAD. This has got to be one of the most boring, bland, poorly designed maps I've played. I stepped out the door of the opening safe room, and immediately got the message "Run to the safe room." That's right, the first level is just a rolling crescendo through a couple of blocks of suburbia. Big open streets, houses, cars. Nothing special that I saw. The next couple levels were completely forgettable. The finale takes place in a mostly empty park. I spent most of it in the playground area, on top of a simple slide, because that was the most defensible position I could find in the giant open field.

We Don't Go to Ravenholm: A bare-bones port of the Ravenholm section of Half-Life 2. It's boring and just barely done. None of the traps from the original level are there, and some of the pathing is changed. There's no reason to play this.

Dead Before Dawn DC: This one was fun. Probably worth a run through. I think I may have missed some of the easter eggs.

Oh, and if you want a better flashlight, but not something absurd, try the LED Flashlight mod.

This is the second weekend day in a row where I could sleep as long as I wanted, and my brain said "6 HOURS! DONE!" I was going to blame you guys until I remembered that I never go to sleep as soon as we're done playing anyways, so really. [emoji14]

I hope this is as painful for you all to watch as it was for me to produce, and then watch, and then upload anyway.

Honestly, I definitely sang and danced OUT LOUD to I Will Survive during the credits of The Martian while sober, this is nothing. :p

Well, it could be you didnt have to use their axe, and instead had to hit "E" with an axe you already have (if you have one). Im not sure now. Maybe you DO have to use their axe, because I don't remember seeing a prompt before I got their axe. I guess I'd have to test it.
I played through the campaign again. I had an axe ending the previous level, and it got taken away when the level loaded.

Bah. Sorry for ditching but I had to deal with something really dumb. Hope to make up for it next time.
Make up for it by suggesting a better map next time. Warcelona is so full of bullshit. Even the Easter egg is full of bullshit.

I was right, that did look like a Minecraft texture.

Here's the Warcelona vs match, closest match EVER. ONE POINT DIFFERENCE.

Also, I heard tell from a little bird that the finale of Warcelona is Moria-level-of-Night-Terror levels of bullshit.

It sounds like Mic has started buzzing. Good thing I'm getting a new one tomorrow. [emoji14]
The one I got is the Audio Technica ATR-2100, and so far I'm really happy with its performance. Sitting in its stand on the desk, it picks me up just fine for gaming (as you've heard), and for more intensive tasks, you can pick it up and hold it closer and it has excellent dynamic range.

I shudder to think what Terry / Batman Beyond has been learning from Deadpool

Not pictured (or not labeled with the picture)
Borderlands Insta-Health (Adrenaline)
Leprechaun Heroin (Health Kit) - I like the green color
Marceline's Ax Bass from Adventure Time (Guitar)
Catwoman (Coach)
Pool Cue (Golf Club)
Mace Windu's Lightsaber (Katana) - there are a whole range of sabers available, I like purple. This even adds sound effects.
Wendy's French Fries (Pills) - also comes in McDonald's and Burger King
Awesome Medkit - the yellow can be hard to see, but it makes me laugh.
Mudkip Medkit - I like the blue
LED Flashlight - because I don't use incandescent flashlights anymore, and neither should my survivors

What I've rejected:
Righteous Bison TF2 Soldier (Magnum) - It feels weak and blocks too much of the view.
Machina TF2 Sniper (Hunting Rifle) - Looks too much like the military sniper rifle, also the model looks like it's not aiming at the crosshairs.
Sun on a Stick TF2 Scout (Tonfa) - meh
Zangetsu (Machete) - covers way too much of the screen
Common Infected Battledroid - makes it impossible to tell which are uncommon common infected, like hazmat suits or riot gear.
Batman Flashlight - not practical

As an aside, I am now un-officially Terrik's gaming mom, and he is banned from gaming until at least Thursday. :p

Also, I think that Yama would make a good Versus map. We should see about getting people to play it co-op so that we can put it into versus rotation.

I've been thinking about our co-op overpopulation problems, and a thought occurred to me... what if we designate a certain night to be "co-op" night, and do two maps... one "team" on one map, while the other team watches the stream, then the other map with the other team while the first team watches? That way we start chewing through this SERIOUS map backlog we have, and everybody gets to see the content?

WELL, now he TOLD me to do it.

Alternatively, we could just split into two groups and each do both maps separately, we don't NEED to record everything. Especially because we have been throwing out most of the co-op footage lately. Though we'd have to agree on teams. We might even want to consider having one team do normal and the other do advanced.

True, the co-op footage is not getting used as much any more.
