Wait, wait... How many people here have actually used a rotary phone?
I think like 3 times...when I was six.

Does anyone else find it weird when the alert thing is alerting you of a new post your all-ready on? And then you accidentally click it to go on the topic you were all-ready on. COoooooooooooooosmic.

Not a complaint, I just find it odd.

Twas a dark time, my friend. Besides rotary keypads, cords were also a blight upon mankind. Phones and even remote controls were tied down by these evil monstrosities. It's a wonder any of us made it through the late 70's/early 80's with our sanity! :aaah:

I remember being afraid of using them as a kid, because if there was a serial killer around the house I wouldn't be able to dial it right. I was a scared little boy.

We didn't have a push-button phone until I was in high school, so 1984 or so. We didn't even have to dial the entire number for somebody (only 5 digits instead of all 7, long before many have to even dial area code for a call across town) until I was in middle school, my best friend's number was 28294.

I got my kids one of the Fisher-Price pull behind phones that was a re-release of the phones they had when I was a kid. It had a rotary dial. But their other phone toys have been more like cell phones, including one we got for our daughter that can record a message. That is neat for when my husband is on deployment.[DOUBLEPOST=1349068014][/DOUBLEPOST]

This is it. It was almost exactly the same as the one I had.

... That thing is terrifying.

If you could hear the noise it makes when it's pulled around you'd probably think it's possessed.
Wanna talk possessed toys?

And not not just because of the Nostalgia Critic did this thing , I had one as a kid and when it spoke it creeped me out. And I'm not sure if he's posessed but I'm pretty sure he's still evil.

Hidden behind that smile is the all that is evil in the world.

Just got an email from a friend of mine who has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It explains the shakes that she's been having for a while now.

I asked her if I could bring paint over to get mixed. I am either a terrible friend or a good friend.

-shrug- I'd still to this day ask Michael J Fox to make me some Jiffy Pop or erase my Etch-A-Sketch.

When I was a kid, my Teddy Ruxpin's batteries were dying as it told a story. Coupled with demon voice, the jaw fell off. My dad said he heard me scream from the other side of the house.

It would be fun to record some crazy heavy metal onto the left track of one of those special tapes and watch Teddy scream out some music while flapping his mouth around.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I mean, I could over use commas, when really I should be using shorter sentences, instead of trying to combine multiple thoughts into run-on sentences, like this.

My problem is I tend to ramble on, and as a result my sentences usually end up being two-to-three-line monstrosities. My Academic Writing professor would be appalled...

Actually the problem is that those are commas placed where commas aren't necessary, not that too many thoughts are being forced into a single space.[/proofreader]

I have a bit of a punctuation issue... I may use too many ellipses in IMs and email correspondence...
If Rorschach has taught me any thing....its that ellipses bring out deepness in one's soul. People post at me to stop using ellipses and I'll answer...no.
