[Gaming] Elder Scrolls 5 - Dawnguard is HERE!

That's only if you take the talent in the destruction tree.
You're mostly right, but check this out:
Aspect of Terror perk from Illusion tree is currently glitched to add 10 points of damage to all Fire spells (you do NOT need to take Intense Flames for this effect to apply).
That's from the destruction page on the UESP. So I wonder if there's more, because people on fire at low health, and I don't have that perk, tend to act weird IMO.

I'm pretty sure you only need whichever enchant is the dominant enchant. The weapon glow usually tells you which it is.

I could be wrong about that though.
The weapon glow is the paralysis green, as opposed to the life drain red, so I'll have to give that a try. Fortunately I've stockpiled ebony and daedra hearts for just this reason (among others)...

Is there natural fear (by which I mean, not a spell I cast, or an effect that I've added to a weapon or armor) in the game?
I've noticed even in melee that if I smack somebody around but don't kill them, often now they'll start blubbering "no, please, don't kill me!" and go running for help. They usually come back with that particular dungeon's boss/bandit chief/whatever. Sometimes I'll find one cowering in a corner somewhere, clutching their head with both hands and shivering like they're standing on a frayed wire (simile, not bug).

Of course, I've also noticed that one of the random "hunter" npcs who travels the route between Helgen and Ivarstead disappeared last night when I finished buying all of his skins and then "unsheathed" my hands to cast fire-bolt on him after he admitted to poaching.
Heh, there have been several times recently where I've smashed somebody with a 2-handed killing blow so apparently powerful that it either annihilates the corpse entirely or pushes it down through the ground to plummet into the void. Then there was the time I blasted a draugr with "Incinerate" which has a knockback on death component, and it embedded the Draugr Deathlord in a nearby wall, where his limbs flailed like one of those wacky waving inflatable whatchamajigger guys.

Yep, pretty much that exactly, only a thousand year old mummified corpse half-stuck in a wall, making crumpling paper noises and metal clanks as his arms flap up and down in defiance of both death AND physics.

That one I'm used to, like when I've got someone to almost dead and they start screaming "mercy," or "I can't defeat you," but this has been mobs just straight up running away from the bosses/other mobs, toward the exit. Oh, and I didn't actually kill the hunter... I just raised my flaming hands and poof - he was gone before I could even start casting. But seriously, one random bug like that out of almost 200 hours played... not enough of an issue to bitch about, especially since he wasn't a quest mob, he was just some random guy that I was going to punish for poaching murder for the fun of it.

Just be careful to murder all witnesses too, because hunters, even though they be poachers, will add bounty to whatever hold you find them in.

Yeah, this guy was alone on the road with no guards in sight, part of the reason I wanted him dead. Now that I'm getting higher up in level I'd love to run into another Thalmor patrol, though. See what their prisoner has to say.

I rescued him once. Not much, as it turns out. You don't even have the option to give him equipment, like you do the stormcloak prisoner captured by imperials.

Well, that's useless then, aside from getting to kill more Thalmor.
Apparently that might have been just a bug though. Supposedly you are supposed to be able to share items with them, and perhaps even escort them to Windhelm/Palace of the Kings.

Looks like the information I read about there being a console version of the Creation Kit was just misinformation posted by the blog. I was browsing the Bethesda Twitter account to see if the Creation Kit was still set for today and they said they will not support user mods on consoles in a tweet a few days ago.

Either way, excited for today!

Suddenly I am very happy that I bought the PC version, and yet again find that my Xbox 360 continues to languish behind my PC for gaming purposes. Of course, if I was a big FPS player, that would probably be different.

Buying anything but PC was gimping your future. The amount of great mods even in this "limited time" has been amazing. I'll prolly download it sometime this week and see if I can create my... village.

AGH STUPID DELL HURRY UP AND GET MY NEW LAPTOP TO ME IT'S BEEN OVER A WEEK AND IT'S STILL "IN PRODUCTION" I WANT TO PLAY THIS FUCKING GAME SO FUCKING BAD UUUUUGGGGHHHHH

Skyrim is only $40 today on Steam!

And the site hosting the Creation Kit is down because it couldn't handle the load. Did they think this wouldn't happen?

Creation Kit is ONLINE through Steam! Just go to the Tools Library and start downloading. The Steam Workshop is active!

They also released a High Resolution Texture Package, which strangely shows many of the same screenshots from the main Skyrim page. Either they are lazy and didn't want to make new screenshots to show off the package, or many of the screenshots they were using to advertise skyrim were actually using this higher resolution package and people just never noticed.

Wait... are those the actual graphics from someone's screenshot? Cuz if they are, then I uh... I really need a new graphics card or two. Cuz damn.

Abarring the space core, yes, that's pretty much what the game looks like to me.

Also, since Skyrim was the only major release of 2011 without Nolan North in it, you should consider this mod a patch to fix that problem. You can now feel free to include Skyrim in the "Nolan North" section of your video game library, which is to say, your video game library.
Many has were had.

Well crap... here I was thinking that I actually had decent graphics in a game for once. Guess it's time to save up some cash and buy myself a new graphics card.

Heh. I did some calculations on upgrading things. Turns out, my graphics are just fine (aka, I want to be able to move in the next two years, not have a screamingly awesome computer in a shit-hole apartment with a crappy commute and no prospects of ever being able to buy a house or retire).

Holy shit, I haven't booted up Skyrim since the new patch, but even with the added HD textures (which are not really that impressive, game doesn't really look much better) the game is like smooth silky ultra butter. That 1.4 must've been a good patch.

Fuck, even in the Rift, solid 60 fps. No drops.

Well, now I'm curious. Post a screenshot for what it looks like for YOU.
