I am now imagining you imagining my wife using it as a wallpaper.

...This is boring.

I don't see your point.
Posts sexy pictures. Gets indignant when people make sexual comments.

Snark aside, I think you have to admit there is an overt sexuality to that costume. The costume being well made doesn't supercede that, and people are naturally going to react to it, and others like it. Now as you say, that's not an excuse to objectify, and I think by and large most people in here don't. Appreciating beauty/sexiness != objectification.

-edit-

That's what she said.
Implied sexual comment. THREAD OVER.

Let's get some cosplay posted. Here are Sirene (Youtube) and Courtoon (Youtube). They're two of LittleKagsin's favorite cosplayers, and they're rapidly rising in my favorites list as well. These two are adorable, they have so much fun together, and I really enjoy Sirene's commentary videos on Young Justice.

Rose Tyler - Doctor Who (played by Courtoon)

Ty Lee - Avatar: The Last Airbender (played by Sirene)

Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack - My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (played by Sirene, Chinasaur and Courtoon)

Young Justice - Zatanna (Chinasaur), Superboy (Ken D.), Miss Martian (Sirene), Robin (Solo-Dono), Kid Flash (TobieJade), Artemis (Courtoon), Chesire (thelifeofabinder)

Miss Martian (Sirene)

Artemis (Courtoon)

Two beautiful young ladies, and I look forward to seeing more of their cosplay in the future. :D

You know that many of the comments in this thread have gone well beyond appreciative. These are comments that would be harassment if made to the face of a cosplayer at a con. I ignored them at first because.. well, I didn't want to put up with this drama. However, as time has gone on, I've realized that this thread comes up pretty high in search results, and many of the cosplayers who are in these photos find themselves here, and see what is being said about them. I don't want them reading my thread and finding verbal abuse aimed at them.

"I'd have sex with you" or "I derive sexual pleasure from lusting after you" are both verbal abuse. If someone were to say these to a woman in real life, that would be a good time to call security or a police officer over. Saying them semi-anonymously in a thread does not make it any better. I don't care that it has somehow become a commonly accepted practice in nerd-dom to say such things, it's not appropriate and it will no longer be tolerated in this thread.

Pez now has his own board and is the mod. If he doesn't like a comment, it's gone.
I'll work on getting some specific rules and guidelines made up. Hopefully things won't seem so capricious then. In the meantime, consider that it's not unlikely for a cosplayer to see what you've said about them, and don't use "internet" as an excuse for what you're saying.

No, I don't know. Aside from Jay's last comment, I can't recall anything egregious. That may be shitty memory on my part, I'll grant you. That, or I have become completely inured to it, which is a possibility. :\

Going back a dozen pages or so... aside from Jay, I don't really see anything that I'd characterize as untoward, and even Jay is mostly going for risqué humor. That said, I see what you mean. Condense those comments down, and it gets creepy.

Man, I wish I were thin and/or buff enough to do cosplay. I totally refuse to be "that guy" who's dressed in an ill fitting costume.

Im a giant fatass so my ambition is to dress up as ursula the sea witch id rock that.

See, I fall in that middle ground, I'm chubby, but not big enough to pull of someone like, say, The Blob or Gluttony...
Just off the top of my head...

- Mario/Wario
- Barry Wheeler from Alan Wake (and his costumes are dead simple)
- Sig Curtis from Full Metal Alchemist (He's basically Armstrong but gone to seed)
- Jek Tono Porkins from Star Wars
- The Kingpin

That is an excellent Rose Tyler, which is helped because there's a slight resemblance facially to Billie Piper.

You can always cosplay a henchman. While the better evil organizations have strict fitness guidelines (Hydra, Cobra), others are more lenient in order to meet recruitment quotas. (Two Face, The Monarch)

Indeed.

Also, on the contentious comment thing: so long as I remain gentlemanly here, I'm still allowed to talk about wanting to nail Kurtz over in the PVP thread, right? Cause seriously, I'd ride that wave all the way up the Pacific Coast my friends.

What about Kurtz dressed up as, say, Ursula the sea witch? Can I express the desire to hit that like a blast from Triton's trident?
