And that's if Steam unlocks it at midnight. I remember, Left 4 Dead 2 didn't unlock until the afternoon the next day.

This is really unimportant in the grand scheme of things, but L4D2 unlocked at midnight. I had a wicked bout with insomnia that night, so I got up at 2 and played until work the next morning.

I'm at work right now. (3:45 am here) When I get off, I'm going to Wal-Mart, as no game store will be open yet, and hope they have a copy. Then I will buy it, and try my damdest to not go to sleep.

Here's hopin'.

Anyone else getting the game randomly shut down on them? No error screen, no "not responding" message, just the game running smoothly one moment and switching back to the desktop the next with no sign the game had even been running. I wish it would stop that.

You're right; I'm wrong. It was unlocked and I did get to play that morning; then something happened to Steam later and my L4D buddies and I were pissed, having to wait a couple hours until we got back to it.

No game store will have it, if your area's like mine (Gamestop). I'm pondering calling them and then heading to Target anyway...
And then I think "You have a lot of work to get done today and if you buy that game, you're not going to do any of it."

I had a crashing problem quite a bit with Fallout, to the point I quicksaved every 10 steps. It kind of killed the game for me. Sigh.

Hopefully that won't happen here?...

After about an hour and a half. I was just about to kill the boss at the end of the first sidequest and it crashed.

Though, I'm almost glad it did. I have class today.

The fix is apparently to change your system's sound output format to 16-bit 44.1kHz. A strange fix, but I changed it and haven't had a crash in the few hours since.

Skyrim is in my PS3. I've been sitting here working on stuff, listening to the menu music repeat. On one hand, I feel like I caved. On the other hand, there have been many games I planned to get up until release day and then just didn't buy, so maybe it's really me following through on this.

I laugh that there was a patch already. Well, off to start. Now to spend 40 minutes decided my character's race and name.

Got off work at 7am.
Went to Wal-Mart.
No Skyrim.
Drive everywhere. No stores open.
Gamestop opens at 9.
Best Buy opens at 9.
Target opens at--- 8! Glimmer of hope??
Sit in parking lot.
Sit some more.
Play with phone.
Get bored of phone.
Almost fall asleep.
Store opens.
Go inside. Seek my treasure.
Skyrim acquired!
Go home.
Excercise extreme self control by finishing all my get-home chores-- dishes, feed cats, feed fish, laundry.
Post here before I play.
Later suckers.

I am so tired but I want to play this game.

I love my Elder Scrolls maps. Almost tempted to buy it in a store just so I can get the map.....

I'm also tempted to break up with my girlfriend for a week so I can play this game. So, you know, I don't have the best judgement.

OH SWEET ZOMBIE BUDDHA. I caved. Like a little girl I caved.

I was at Target and they... they had copies of it and it came with a 10 dollar gift card and I... I just couldn't stop myself.
