Video Game News and Miscellany

Tell me about it, I've had about 5 games sitting on my desktop, waiting to be played and all I ever seem to play right now is:

Dead Island
WoW
Team Fortress 2

Though I'm probably going to pull myself away to play some Lonesome Road for Fallout.

So, LoZ: Skyward Sword is going to have an item/weapon upgrade system:

Dammit Nintendo! I am sick of being told what the little trinkets are every time I pick one up. I've got dozens of stalfos skulls in my inventory, I don't need to be told what one is anymore.
DO WANT !

My God, that game looks amazing.

You know, lately there's been so much good stuff available for free I've hardly had the time to pirate anything at all.
And cheap stuff too. The amount of amazing games I've gotten for <$5 is amazing. Heck, the Humble Bundles alone would have left me with a backlog at this point.

Arkham, Skyrim and Battlefield for me, of the new releases anyway. Though I feel like I might be forgetting something and with the deluge of games coming out in November/December I probably am.

Because it's being made by like 4 people left at Interplay and is never likely going to happen, let alone be good.

Battlefield is definitely in the maybe pile for me as well but it does look promising so far, I heard open beta is supposed to start soon and while it won't give me any singleplayer experience I should be able to glean enough from multiplayer to decided if I want to pick it up. I thank you for reminding me about Uncharted, though my wallet doesn't. I haven't seen enough of Rage to decide whether or not I want to try it.

Sad but true. What's left of Interplay is being sued by Bethesda because they didn't agree to let them go ahead with the brand they now own. Considering Interplay is in ruins and has proven utterly incompetent for the last 15 years or so, Bethesda doesn't want them to release anything Fallout branded because it's going to inevitably devalue their property.

Also because Bethesda wants to make the MMO themselves.

Bethesda seems to be losing that fight seeing as how when the rights were purchased in the first place they didn't get the MMO rights.

Yeah, Bethesda doesn't have a leg to stand on. They're just stalling and hoping to keep the litigation going long enough to cause Interplay to collapse completely.

I know I shouldn't be rooting for Interplay seeing as they are and always have been so shortsighted and incompetent but I just can't bring myself to dislike them. So many of my favorite games came out of Interplay in the 90's. The Fallouts, Baldur's Gateseseses etc. Hell, they were the publishers for Blizzard's Blackthorne and Lost Vikings, two of my favorite SNES titles. The Interplay logo still warms MY GOD DAMN HEART.

This will almost assuredly happen. Bethesda releases multiple hits a year, while Interplay hasn't made any money since they sold off most of their properties. Ether Interplay collapses from fighting or they sell the MMO rights to Bethesda for a tidy sum.

Psychonauts just got a Mac port, Steam achievements and, to quote Double Fine president Tim Schafer, will "finally be answering fans' requests for a more difficult Meat Circus." There's rumors of some creator commentary as well.

I'm looking forward to hearing more specifics on just what has been changed. I might have to buy this at the next Steam sale. I own it on GOG, but I loves me some achievements.

Well, thanks gaming websites. I totally wanted to know that gigantic fucking spoiler about Arkham City. You fucking cunts.

Yeah, that was an utter dick move. Especially on Kotaku's part who posted the spoiler in an ARTICLE'S TITLE. That said:

Every article is claiming that the Rocksteady reps specifically called attention to the Joker's "death" and refused to answer any questions. So my guess is that everyone thought it was OK to spoil since 90% of gamers will reach that point and say "Oh come on! He's not REALLY DEAD! At least THIS early!". It still is a call that I don't think they should make, though.

I think it's a real ruined holy shit moment that I would have rather found out about in the game than off a fucking kotaku article.

WHY HAD I NOT HEARD OF THIS UNTIL NOW!?!?

http://www.fallout-on-line.com/

I'm insanely excited for this info.
Wow. that would be pretty awesome. I can see people setting up town/vaults (or at least take over vault)
Player create mission like escort mission (supplies and goods from point A to Point B like in EvE)
Looking for old tech in cities.
It has potential!

No, it's a regular game, done by the same company that does the Persona series. There's no actual nudity in the game, as far as I know.
