Video Game News and Miscellany

How sad is it that at one time the Bioware logo that would ensure my optimism and excitement now provokes only feelings of mistrust and caution.

What the fuck did I just look at?
League of Legends, as interpreted by Bioware Mythic in their Warhammer Online engine... at least that's my interpretation.

Or, to put it another way... the DOTA mod for Warhammer Online.

I just got an email from THQ advertising Dawn of War 2 Ultramarines multiplayer pack. Now you too can own 7 slightly modified RTS character models for use in multiplayer for only 7.50. Fuck right the hell off. I wish Relic wasn't owned by such a garbage company. Company of Heroes is the best RTS of the last 5 years.

What a steaming pile. I no longer value Bioware by name. I will be taking them at product from now on. This just tears it.

Isn't over-charging for cosmetic options the heart and soul of Warhammer 40k? I'm sure Krisken will agree with me here.

I love Supreme Commander forged Alliance... but I like CoH more ;).

I agree with you about SC2 as well... my brother and I stopped playing the multiplayer pretty soon after we got it and went back to CoH.

Every couple months myself and a bunch of friends get together for a big Supreme Commander LAN party which always turns into an epic shitstorm... good times.

Prepare to get jealous.

I've taught the little woman to play SC:FA. She really likes it now. I've downloaded a bunch of custom maps and we go co-op against AIX:Adaptive opponents.

Also got her to try some Dawn of War, but once you get used to SupCom's zoom functionality, no minimap will ever be enough again.

And now it's official: PSP Vita getting a Persona 4 remake called Persona 4: The Golden. It's getting new animation, at least one new character, and new voice acting. I wouldn't be surprised if the new voice acting is to match the new voice actors from the anime, as they couldn't get everyone from the game to do voice work.

So Shego, if you end up enjoying Persona 3: FES and want to try the sequel, it might be worth it to get a Vita for the new version.

They are also apparently working on a Persona fighting game from the makers of BlazBlue. It'll be in the arcades in Spring 2012 with an Xbox/Ps3 version sometime after that.

Crap. I kind of assumed that. Well, good news, Persona 4 is portable. Bad news, if I wanna play both Devil Survivor Overlocked and Persona 4 Portable, I'll need to get both 3DS and Vita.

I may actually get a PSP Vita this generation. The only series I'm going to be upset about not getting to play are Pokemon and Professor Layton, but unless Nintendo can get their act together, the 3DS looks like a dud.

I suppose I can let the library decide. Before this year, I'd play my DS a ton, but now my PSP has my primary attention between the two. Don't know what'll happen next handheld generation.
