Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

Ugh, the Air Conditioning is out in my building again. It seems that at least once a year the damn A/C goes out. It seems that there is zero preventative maintenance done on this building. At least I missed the time the A/C was out for months.

Two stews, a soup, and since we have a family gathering tomorrow evening anyway, well, the family is getting quite a different meal from what we had planned  the amount of waste will all in all be fairly limited, but it's going to take a few hours at least to save as much as possible.
I will do dishes in exchange for leftovers.

You'll do the dishes, or you'll get the doomies to do the dishes? Because I think one of those scenarios will end with all of @Bubble181's dishes broken.
You people have no faith in me and my abilities. :p

Picture the scene from The Hobbit where all the Dwarves are cleaning up after dinner. Now add more dooking. That's ferrets doing the dishes.

Government fucked us over again, so I'm at reduced hours.

Things will be okay, but I thought we were going to climb out of the credit card ditch we're in from moving and plumbing issues, only to now be pinching pennies again at the grocery store just months after the shutdown.

Wait, you consider Whine worse than Medium Rant?
I thin ki've said this before, but for me it's
Whine (just a small thing to whine about) -> minor rant (things you want to complain/vent about but won't destroy your life) -> Rant (major issues that'll change your life for the worse or have a severe impact for many months).

I admit there are serious issues you don't especially need to rant about but are just sad about (e.g. dead elderly relatives), but still. I post in Whine when it's a minor thing I know I'm just overreacting to and such.

That would be worse? I always saw it as:

Whiny rant: About stuff that sucks but isn't severe
Minor rant: Serious but not devastating
Rant VII: The Big Stuff
Well that's interesting. I've always seen it as
Minor rant: This sucks.
Rant: This is gonna suck big time.
Whiny rant: This is gonna suck SOOOOOO MUUUUUUCH that I'm-a need a lotta wine to deal with it.

I guess I see it that way because the first whiny rant post was Dave's (fictional) story about urinating on his cat, while Rant usually has unemployment, deceased family, cancer.

I figured my work problem was more between those two, hence medium, but I accidentally posted it here.

You're definitely not alone in this...It's why we sometimes have the emotional whiplash in this thread from "my father just died", "man I had to wait 10 minutes for the train in the snow!", "I just got fired". To be fair, we don't really have a "major sad" thread, as I - and I think most - consider the Rant to be more "major angry".

To support my side :p , I think if this thread was meant for serious problems, it wouldn't be "like a baby, with 500% extra DRAMA LLAMA EXAGGERATION" but "more "Get sympathy for serious issues here, we're a big international shoulder to cry on"

That's another reason I see it that way; the title would seem kind of demeaning towards more serious problems.

To think this whole whiny thing started because Makare wanted to make a post but didn't want to start a thread. So I made up some bullshit just so she could comment. And I've never lived it down.

I actually like the title. Fits so many moods.

And I saw the baby crying part less as about any drama and more an indicator of intensity, like, “This was more than I could really handle.”
Well now I’m no longer sure just how much concern I should muster over things in the various rant threads.

Spoken like a true robot! ;)

I thought it was minor complaints, thus the mocking "like a baby". Minor rants are something else - just bitching about things you can get over but want to bitch about. Like airline food.

I've always understood the hierarchy of rants to be "whine" is littlest, minor is medium, and then RANT is for the full blown "my life is ruined." And it is thus reflected in the pinned newbie guide.

Whine time: my new medication means cutting various foods so I don't get poisoning and die. Potatoes, bananas, some other stuff. There's other stuff, but so long as the potassium isn't over 200 mg and I don't eat a ton of it, I should be okay.

Ghost pepper chips contain over 300 mg potassium per serving. My favorite ...

I can have, like, five chips a day.

This isn't a permanent medication, right? Right? :(
