[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

Well, got my stash tab on the US side.
I'm somewhat in doubt whether I'd restart and try for Conqueror on the EU side too (given that the Journey really is easier than some of the previous seasons), or go for Guardian on the US side.
Depends on how many stash tabs you want, I guess.

I think I already have 4 on the EU side, so that won't change much. Sticking to US for now, on 3/6 for Guardian. getting three gems to 70 automatically clears the 3-to-65 conquest, so that's two in one go, and just have to run some bounties to have enough horadric materials to extract some more powers. This shouldn't take long, unless I hit a wall on the GR climbing...Up to 70 now without much issue, though. Don't know if it's Barbs being easier or this being a "top build" instead of a "mid tier" build like I usually play, but I'm going a LOT faster than I was last season.

Finished Guardian on the US side. I might play around with different Barb builds on the US side or go play on the EU server again to get the portrait frame etc there, too.

is it me or are Menagerist Goblins not a thing anymore? On the EU side I never see them because I have all the pets, but I have only two pets on the US side so I expected to encounter *some*. Plenty of goblins, several goblin packs, not a single pet. :(
Also, didn't see a single Follower Will Not Die for the Sorceress, so in the higher GRs she's really just dead weight. Sheesh.

So, a patch was released this afternoon right while I was preparing to log in, purportedly for "performance reasons."
Hmm, we'll see.

Cute?

That aside, I'm glad to hear there's more in the works, but an announcement by a moderator isn't likely to be the first announcement of anything big.
There was news of them looking for various art, design, and management posts awhile back. This is likely what those positions were regarding.

Am i the only one who thinks having more then 1 project about Diablo isn't good news? Make a good game, not a multimedia opportunity or whatever...

I expect we'll see more character classes (much like the Shieldbreaker DLC for Darkest Dungeon), there's always the chance at another expansion (Everything in the destroyed soulstone had to go somewhere, right?) and I half expect we might see more side missions based on the followers (perhaps something where we get to play as them, maybe?).

Could be anything, really. An expansion and first lead-up to D4, character classes and a new patch with some new areas like the Realms of Fate,...

More character classes seems obvious - my bet would be Druid, maybe? Shape shifting and being a hybrid tank-mage would be interesting, but with the Necro output would mean 4 INT classes, so probably something else first.
As for a full-blown expansion, I doubt it. I tend to agree with the theory that the island, the Realms, etc are parts of a scrapped second expansion beaded around the Angel of Fate.

It's been acknowledged by staff that the separate story elements from these areas ARE part of a planned and cancelled expansion.

My thoughts on upcoming Diablo content? Diablo 4 is already in the works.

Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet:
Season 15: Boon of the Horadrim Begins 9/21

Theme this season means all Horadrim caches (bounty rewards) doubled

Conquests are....Pretty annoying for those of us playing solo or with PUGs.
-> Sprinter (complete full campaign in 1 hour)
-> Boss mode (kill all big bosses in 20 minutes)
-> Avarice (50 million gold streak outside of Realm of Greed)
-> The Thrill (GR45 solo without set items)
-> Masters of the Universe (master 8 set dungeons)

The first two are fairly easy in a coordinated group or very hard solo; the third and fourth are probably the easiest two conquests in the game in all; the last is technically easy but it requires a massive time sink for those who normally don't level more than one character to level 70...and leveling additional classes is, of course, much easier with a group to help out.

Haedrig's Gifts this season, totally unsurprisingly:
  • Barbarian – Wrath of the Wastes
  • Crusader – Roland’s Legacy
  • Demon Hunter – Unhallowed Essence
  • Monk – Raiment of a Thousand Storms
  • Necromancer – Bones of Rathma
  • Witch Doctor – Helltooth Harness
  • Wizard – Tal Rasha’s Elements

Those first two look pretty easy since they're not tied to any difficulty.

Boss Mode is level 70 Torment X. Sprinter is level 70 Normal. In both cases, the issue isn't killing them fast enough, it's moving between the bosses fast enough. You can easily lose 5 minutes just *looking* for Adria sometimes!

“Sprinter” generally requires multiple people to go all-in on mobility enhancements and to leapfrog each other to rule out all the false paths and get to the next boss as quickly as possible. One of the most annoying impediments to doing this is the fact that some of the Diablo bosses take longer to do their death animations than Paul Rubens takes to die in Buffy.

Man, I was going to play a WD on the Americas servers ,but despite the season being live seven hours ago over here, it's still not live on the American servers. Sigh.

@Dave and I played some hardcore last night, with his level 5-something char helping me raise up my character.
It went fine until the game decided to unexpectedly base its level on his level rather than mine (I was hosting) while we were in a rift. By that point I was 62 and he was 65, we were playing on Master difficulty, and we hit a spot where 2-3 groups of elites were hanging out and...well, now we both have to start over again.

Dave, I may have forgotten to mention that because the difficulty scaling is exponential and not linear, once you get past lvl 61, it’s usually a good idea to drop the difficulty level one notch for lvls 62-70 until you have started to acquire enough lvl 70 gear. Especially on HC. At least for non-dedicated casuals like us.

I'm aware of the difficulty hit. I just thought, "Hey, we've been doing okay. We should be good for a few more levels at the least."

I've been wrong before. I've even been REALLY wrong before.

I was super really wrong this time.

We both were.
As you said, I was doing really well, so knowing the game had suddenly decided to boost the difficulty would have been a help, but dunno if it would’ve been enough, given the aggro.

Well it turns out that Veilith (of Empyrion fame) is pretty good at D3. Took Pat & I on speed runs tonight. I think I’m paragon 150 or something now...

Man, I'm startign to hate that silly Set Dungeon requirement. I still don't have 5 pieces from any other WD set except the Gift, and Helltooth SD is pretty much impossible to Master without Mara's Kaleidoscope (immune to Poison). I think you can guess which unique I haven't found despite upgrading dozens of amulets in the Cube so far. Zuni's and Jade's SD are easy, and HT is easy too if you have that amulet...But none of the pieces I need will drop. Grrr. And I've done a few GR59s without any problem, I'm pretty sure I could do GR60, Araneae and Diablo on T13 by now, too...

Is this on US or EU server?
I helped @Dave in US/HC, I started a US/SC to help out a friend of mine, but I haven’t done anything on EU yet.

—Patrick

EU, I wanted to start over on US for another stash tab but since the season hadn't started yet, eh :p
But I just need to complain here more often - the verty next drop after that post was Zuni's ring, which allowed me to go do that Set Dungeon...Which is stupidly easy. Like the last time I did a WD, I mastered it on my first try, without adapting my build beyond the necessary (the Zuni pieces and Wiken's Reach). I didn't even think to swap out Boon of the Hoarder and Goldwrap.
