If there's a sudden miraculous reversal at the end to give Hillary the win, the cries of "rigged" will echo from now until eternity.
Let it. Fuck that rabble. A miracle comeback would spare them what they're so hellbent on unleashing.

Faithless electors are a thing. We might see a few go rogue. Not enough, but it would keep things interesting.

Most of the states, like Michigan, have laws that say that a faithless electors vote doesn't count, and they would immediately be replaced by an elector that votes according to the people's choice within the time frame required to count for the electoral college.

Lots of Ann Arbor still hasn't reported.

It's a democratic stronghold (university
Town) and Trumps lead is small enough that it matters.

The same is likely true for Grand Rapids and Wayne county.

Don't give up hope yet.[DOUBLEPOST=1478674047,1478673925][/DOUBLEPOST]The above relates to Michigan. What I'm hearing about PA, though, suggests the last few places are republican strongholds. Clinton has to get both Michigan and PA, or one of the two and nearly every other uncalled state, so trump still has an edge, but not as sure an edge as to give up all hope yet.[DOUBLEPOST=1478674361][/DOUBLEPOST]And even as I wrote that the AP and other news organizations have called PA for trump. He needs so little to win now that it's pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Pennsylvania just went to Trump. Only needs four more electoral votes to win, with Arizona firmly in his grasp right now. It's over.

Seriously, stop deluding yourselves. There will be no miraculous comeback, no sudden burst of Democratic votes that turn around the swing states. Clinton is going to barely win the popular vote and Trump is going to win the electoral college vote.

Donald Trump is going to be president, despite the fact that I personally find that idea repulsive. Anything else is just you kidding yourself.

Fuck it, I'm going to bed. Trump won. Congrats, America. You voted in a sexist, xenophobic asshole. I hate this world.

I don't know what's more depressing. That he won or that so many people supported for and voted him

You know. I wonder how many trump supporters have read atlas shrugged. I wonder if they understand what would actually happen if atlas did shrug?

The AP called the election for trump at 2:31am.

It is likely that clinton won't concede until all the state results are in, so we may hear about it in the morning.

And I was wrong about the concession - reports suggest Clinton called Trump and conceded.

I suppose there will be a victory speech shortly.

I'm interested to see if both candidates follow the usual pattern of "we need to come together..."

Wisconsin pushed him over the line - Michigan couldn't count its ballots fast enough to matter.

This whole thing fascinates me.

Well, you got your hand grenade thrown at Washington. Hope it's worth all the people's lives that are about to be destroyed.

I'm not just worried over Trump. It's the combination of House, Senate, SC and white house all going the same way. Won't be a lot of checks or balances going on.

These next four years are going to be hell. Again, I'm very glad to live in Massachusetts, which doesn't subscribe to Trump's kind of bullshit. Locally, it shouldn't have too tremendous an impact.

I just really, really hope his own party hates him enough that they'll curtail him. They won't let him get away with everything he wants to do. They'll be looking for a reason - any reason - to impeach him. Pence is a lousy human being, but he's not unhinged.

The whole "hopefully his party hates him" isn't going to matter, because Pence is his vice president. The Republicans will pass Pence's shit, happily.

Trump's real dangers are A. setting off an international incident with the leader of another country, and B. rallying the anti-black, anti-Hispanic, anti-anything not straight and white into an unofficial nationalist force within the country, and C. selling this country out to Russia. None of those require Congress.

Donald Trump just said what the rest of the republicans are too scared to. They now know that they can become the official party of racism and it won't hurt them. The branches will work together just fine.

You think the distancing over the last month was just to save their careers and not because that's how they felt? Probably.

None of them have to worry about image anymore. That includes Trump. If he tows along the KKK at the inauguration, what difference would it make to him? He's already won.
