Working with pre-K kids made me hate Elmer's glue and I will hate it for the rest of my life.
Time to make a vet appointment, because sick Artemis is still sick.
Can't complain too much though; at least hers is treatable. But I have a feeling there will be another two weeks of waking up early in the morning to pop a syringe in her mouth, something neither of us look forward to and I worry the stress of that is making her more susceptible to illness. Probably me being paranoid, but I really don't want to lose another rat right now.

I like Gorilla Glue.
I've been complaining about the buttons we use at work to open the doors (a set of 6 buttons on a loose plastic thingie we can move between desks) ever since we moved here; in december. The wires aren't properly connected, it's all sort of cobbled together as a temporary fix....Today I electrocuted myself with it. Dammit. Ok, it probably wasn't that much current running through there, but it still hurts like a bitch well over an hour later and three of my fingers still tingle. The e-mail I sent to safety, internal security, prevention, technical services, my manager, his manager, and the COO, was not all that polite anymore. We're a security company and a bunch of internal departments have been playing pass-the-buck for months on something as simple as a couple of loose wires? Seriously? Gah.
Because I origamilly read it as "pedant. "

Oh, I know. Though not every old button'll do because they're supposed to be secured and blahblah - can't be wireless, for example, because it might be hacked and all that jazz. Still, the problem isn't that we can't think of anything to replace it with, it's that no department will bear the costs/take the time.

So, I had an interesting four-day weekend.
The hiking with my in-laws was all right. They didn't take us on too challenging a hike. But on Monday we visited some relatives in another city, and during the course of the visit I apparently ate something that disagreed with me. End result, I spent the evening in the emergency room, puking most of my innards out. I'm pretty sure I turned myself inside out at least twice. And then I pretty much couldn't eat anything for the next two days.
Oh, and the worst part? Two days without eating, and I haven't lost an ounce of weight!!!

My mouse has died 
It spent a good 5 plus years with me and went on many work trips. It was a good mouse.
I will go get a new one tomorrow. Sadly though, there will be no Diablo tonight. I can muddle through on photoshop and the web using my laptop touchpad, but no way for a game.
Sad times.

They're neither. They're engineered hardwood, so thin nice wood layer over cheaper substrate.
I've heard that there's a market for engineered flooring like this meant specifically to "age" with scratches and scuffs over time. It's not my thing, but perhaps it's intentional. Get used to putting down a protective wood finish every time you find a new scratch though, otherwise water and dirt will darken any exposed wood.

Today sucked. The kids were very difficult, and I had to assign several penalty assignments and piss away too much time on discipline. Didn't help that one of the two copiers in the building was down most of the day, and I couldn't take care of that business after the kids left because of a faculty meeting.
Then, my fucking brake-line broke as I started to drive home, and I barely made it home. The brake fluid was spilling out at a good clip, and I've got a big puddle of it under my car in the garage. Eh, at least I made it home.
And then, the topper, diary? My home phone line just went out at some point today, and Comcast couldn't get it going again. I now need to have a tech replace my old equipment in order to get that going again. I talked to a tech that had been there since '99, and apparently this was the first time since she started that she was unable to fix a problem.
Because of course.
So that was my no good, very bad day. My old car is probably at the end, and I'll need to replace it, which I can't afford. I hope it might be an affordable fix, but I have doubts. The AC hasn't worked in years, a patch is the only thing between me and an $800 exhaust system replacement, and now there's this brake thing. I would get nothing if I tried to trade it in.

Don't know about where you are, but around here, even inoperable cars still get you a minimum trade-in of around €500 for recycling purposes. I admit, the USA doesn't seem to be as interested in recycling
but still...Just the scrap metal and such might get you something.A car - even an old one - is made up of more valuable stuff than just the metal in it
But yeah, car dealers grumbled when that minimum was introduced. On the other hand, it helped get a lot of old, dangerous and dirty cars off the streets.
