[Webcomic] Webcomic Appreciation Jamboree

It's not like Mary can prove anything and Becky has options for where to live (I wouldn't be surprised if Dina's parents got her an apartment just because she asked). If push comes to shove, they can just deny everything and toss Mary out on her ass for damaging student property (which she did).
YOSH-so much this, MAKE HER SUFFER! Sorry I just...really hate her, even more than Dumbiverse Walky who will never be as cool as classic Walky.

Also for shit's and giggles I caught up on Eerie Cuties...does this comic suck? I ask because on the one hand the story is interesting at times, but on the other hand the dialogue can be REALLY annoying, especially Chloe's replacement character whom I just want to die.

I basically stopped looking at anything beyond Menege A 3 by that artist when she thought it would be a good idea to turn 2 comics into 5. Now I only keep up with one because it's not worth the trouble otherwise.

Eerie Cuties kinda petered out, if you ask me, but Sticky Dilly Buns (still the stupidest name for a comic ever) still makes for a decent "expansion pack" for MA3, albeit not enough to stand alone as its own comic.

Six actually, but yeah the "spin-offs" bug me. And what kind of name is "Dangerously Chloe" any way? I'm seriously asking, I have no idea what that's a pun of.

Yeah they work better as a whole thing rather than spin-offs, and I don't get WHY the need to separate them as so. Ad revenue I guess?

I guess it makes sense to people who read the comic. I mean, if I told you doing something would be "Dangerously Charlie" it'd have meaning for you in context, right?

...if you're a (straight?) guy, that is.

That has nothing to do with it. The comic still is basically borrowing characters and plots from MA3, leaning heavily on the "big show." If Pixie Trix Comics is an episode of Friends, MA3 is the A-Plot/Season arc, and SDB is the B-Plot.

I'm not disagreeing with you (personally), just suggesting that you, specifically ... might not be the target audience.

And the award for most forced drama goes to Sandra and Woo!

Seriously, this was a fucking simple dating story and then...that. What the fuck?! WOO FUCKING LILY DOGGY STYLE AT THANKSGIVING WAS LESS UNSETTLING!

She already explained in a previous comic that her family moved here because they witnessed her mother's murder during a break-in, so it's not ENTIRELY out of left field.

But yeah, that thanksgiving comic was hilariously WTF-y.

Larisa's health issue bomb-drop less so.

Re-reading Kevin and Kell,MAN Rudy was a little shit back then.

Also the early strips are very logically dated, especially how they complain about lack of content on the internet like A LOT! In the almighty words of Sir Dippingsauce "Must've been some dark tiems those nineties".

I'm not very familiar with the show, somewhat misleading assumption by me then.

Wait a sec, I just checked Wikipedia, it says Ugly Americans final episode aired in 2012?

Yeah, but they took a year off between seasons and they were actively looking for investors to keep the show going up until 2015. That's why it wasn't "official".

Apparently they made a shootemup game based on Ugly Americans...it did as well as video game based on an obscure Comedy Central show would....or a popular one like South Park, RPGs with hilarious dialogue-SURE-but shooters nnnnnnnnnnnot so muuuuuuuuuuch.

Anyone here reading Cloudscratcher?

Its that rare breed of furry web-comic, where its both A.)Not a shallow porn commercial, and B.)a comic where the talking animals fucking admit they are talking animals, which is an-NOY-ingly rare. What's the point in having a comic about talking animals if all they are going to DO is do stuff normal people do?! Not THIS comic, the cow has super strength, the cobra girl's hood limits her choice of clothing, and the frog using his tongue to open doors, fucking SOMETHING.

SO basically, if you ever wished "Talespin" had more of an edge, this one's for you!

I can't wait until this stuff comes to a boil in Dumbing of Age. I don't know what Mary hopes to get out of this.

"So Mary... you are saying that your floor monitor was having a lesbian relationship with another student and were living together in the same room?"
"Yes."
"And that a homeless girl was living in the empty bed that this freed up, using student services without paying?"
"Yes."
"... but instead of telling us, you proceeded to black mail your floor monitor to let you actively discriminate against the transsexual living on your floor because of your religious intolerence? And you are only telling us now because she refused to let you keep being an intolerant asshole? And you can't prove ANY of this?"
"Uh..."
"You're expelled. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. We just cleaned it."

Dear anyone who ever puts their printed comic on-line-DON'T START AT THE MIDDLE! Looking at you BILL HOLBROOK, I have NO reference for what the fuck is going on in Safe Haven in the beginning.

Also for anyone who wants to check out Safe Haven...be prepared to compare it to Kevin and Kell a LOT! So far I've read a dyslexia story AND a high stakes test story, both of which create flash-backs to stories in Kevin and Kell...he wrote several years later. The man is repetitive, what can I say?

Edit: FINAL NOTE-also started reading the On the Fasttrack archives...or at least the SUNDAY comics of the On the Fasttrack archives, as it isn't until March 1999 when the archive has full storylines. I would be happy to PAY to read the original early strips-BUT it appears the TPBs so far only go back to 2005. KING FEATURES SYNDICATE-making it impossible for artists to make a profit on their work beyond the money they get through serialization.
