GRAH-of course "Scarlet Widow" is the name of an obscure Superman villain, and I thought it'd be a great name for a parody character! GRAH-I say-GRAH!

Only a few people will care about the awesomeness, but someone uploaded the video from my marching band senior year.

I can't tell what any of the formations are symbolizing! Except at 1:20ish, it looks kinda like the mirror image of this:

I go online tonight to buy a treadmill. I check Craigslist and there's one for sale for only $100. I contact the owner and she tells me (through texts) that her and her husband don't use it and since it's a couple years old they just want to get rid of it. I get the specs and it's what I'm looking for. I tell them I'll take it and they ask - at 9:45 at night - if I want to meet them in a WalMart parking lot tonight. Alarm bells start going off and I tell "her" that. We decide that it's probably better for all involved that we meet during the day so I'm picking it up tomorrow.

Here's where the randomness comes in. We start talking about where and when to meet. She says that her husband works at 60th & L...right where I live. I ask where he works. He's one of the mechanics that work at the shop I take my cars. Dude's been to my house before. Talk about randomness. He just posted it about 6 hours ago and this is only the second or third time I've ever been on Craigslist.

If I saw this in a movie I'd never believe it.

This friend of mine this weekend says, "Why are wired so opposite of everyone else?" and I thought of you guys.

I just left out the "you". She just said, "Why are you wired so opposite of everyone else?" Which made me think of the whole "fade hates it" bit.

A friend is leaving passive-aggressive status updates on FB about being forgotten and ignored by her friends that she thought she could trust. Look, the reason I haven't messaged you in the last three days is because I've had a cat that needed abdominal surgery, my car needs some costly repairs, and basically I've had a lot on my plate, and dealing your drama was more than I can handle right now. And I'm fucking sorry that me asking questions about your incoherent bullshit fantasy story 5 years ago - questions like, "Why does the main character do that, though? What's his motivation? Don't his actions and his persona seem kind of contradictory?" - were so fucking mean. I didn't realize that expecting a story to have some kind of logic to it was "hurting your soul".

Guuuuh. That's an unfollow if ever I heard one.

This is great reading: Excerpts from Expert Judgment on Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant

This place is not a place of honor.

No highly esteemed deed is commemorated here.

Nothing valued is here.

This place is a message and part of a system of messages.

Pay attention to it!

Sending this message was important to us.

We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.

Sandia National Laboratories charged a panel of outside experts with the task to design a 10,000-year marking system for the WIPP (Waste Isolation Pilot Plant) site, and estimate the efficacy of the system against various types of intrusion. The goal of the marking system is to deter inadvertent human interference with the site. The panel of experts was divided into two teams. This is the report of the A Team; a multidisciplinary group with an anthropologist (who is at home with different, but contemporary, cultures), an astronomer (who searches for extra-terrestrial intelligence), an archaeologist (who is at home with cultures that differ in both time and space from our own), an environmental designer (who studies how people perceive and react to a landscape and the buildings within them), a linguist (who studies how languages change with time), and a materials scientist (who knows the options available to us for implementing our marking system concepts). The report is a team effort. There is much consensus on the design criteria and necessary components of the marking system. Understandably, there is some diversity of opinion on some matters, and this is evident in the text.

My cat thinks he likes nilla wafers. Whenever I eat any, he wants one... he takes it off to.. I dunno, eat it I suppose... but I am suspicious he just rediscovers he doesn't really like nilla wafers and just hides it somewhere.

The Laughing Cow's cheese wedges might as well be super-meth-heroin-crack-o-ine for my younger cat. It's one of the few foods we let her beg for.
