The NBA Thread

When the closest two teams are DC and Cleveland, and the last Mountaineer to start an NBA playoff game is still Jerry West, it's hard for me to generate a whole lot of interest in the Association.

That said, the further Chicago puts their boot up Miami's ass, the happier I'll be.

I still don't see why some people hate LeBron so much. Except Cleveland, of course - they have every right to be pissed.

Because Cleveland gave him such a reason to stay.

The only people who thought LeBron would stay in Cleveland are Cleveland fans.

that game 7 between the Thunder and the Grizzlies was really fun to watch

Durant is incredible. If he and Westrbook can continue to play and grow together, OKC will win championships.

Oh and sweet, sweet beatdown. The look on Wade's face when he got facialed? That was priceless

huh he's been to the finals and conference finals at least 2 times already.

Karl Malone and Elgin Baylor never won a championship, it doesn't mean they are not great players.

He's just the most gifted player ever. We will have to see if he has the mental tools to go with it.

For the record, i'm not a fan of the man or the brand but basketball player? that dude is unlike everything we've seen

This. They're such a young team, and full of potential. Westbrook really made the Thunder a contender. I don't know if they'll have enough to knock of Dallas this year, but I sure hope so.

I don't even like basketball that much, but you gotta root for your home team. ;)

But they were never the Chosen One, or the Second Coming (he must be popular with the ladies for that.)
Or King James, or whichever self-bestowed one he's using now.

The way ESPN was fawning all over him last summer it was nearly gay porn. It's hard to kiss that much ass on the air without the FCC investigating.

ESPN needs to have a designated face puncher. To be deployed whenever the talent submits a script declaring a team or player wins the championship or series, or is a hall of famer after ONE game.

Case in point: SportsNation asking if Miami "won the series" after last night. Here, Colin. Face, meet bat. Repeatedly.

I was thinking the same thing after the discussion on how "perfect" Nowitzki was and how he was one of the greatest players of all time.

Colin being a jackass who hasn't the slightest clue what he's talking about? Is it because they don't have as many Neck tattoos?

Series tied now at the final of playofs .
I personally think that dallas will give all their power and will win sure :)

Nobody talking about the lockout? Don't think the owners are going to budge on this. I have a hard time feeling sorry for either side considering they all will make more money in a few seasons than most people will make their entire life. Be interesting to see how this will impact the fan base. It took McGuire/Sosa to revitalize baseball after their lockout jaded fans.

Latest buzz is players are going to accept a 50/50 split on the BRI, with the owners making some kind of concession somewhere else. Supposed to be meeting again tomorrow, let's see if the buzz is correct for a change.
