Should I buy a new camera?

I already have a pretty nice camera, but it's huge and I rarely use it anymore. I want to get a compact camera, but in all honesty if I get one it will also probably not get much use. That being said, my gadget lust has reared its ugly head after walking around the electronics section and seeing a camera I've kind of had my eye on for sale. Should I pull the trigger?

Dear Drifter,

This answer kinda depends on a few things. First, would purchasing a camera put you out financially? What I mean by that is would it put you at financial risk to do so?If yes, do not do this until you have a better financial base.

Second, what will you use this for? Special occasions only or are you occasionally interested in photography? My guess is you would only need to pull this out on special occasions. I say you should go for it and buy a small digital camera. Hell, you can get a really good one for only a couple hundred bucks! You may use it more once you find out how easy it is.

As long as you can comfortably afford it, buy the camera and have some fun!
