No, I'm pretty sure you're ascribing causation to correlation. I mean, yeah Alex Jones is an apoplectic flailer, but Beck was more of a... weeper? And in either case, they both had untold thousands of viewers which completely failed to go postal. You're definitely closer to pulling a Jack Thompson on this one than not.

Do you mean to tell me the environment that Doom and Marilyn Manson created didn't have some influence on the Columbine shooters' states of mind?

You can't pick and choose with this stuff just because you like one more than the other. Either media leads people to commit horrible crimes, or it doesn't. And I'm firmly in the "it doesn't" camp, no matter how much I dislike the Fox News insanity.

Let's just stick to blaming Ailes for things that are proven, like contributing to the ideological polarization of America or the countless cases of sexual harassment/assault.

I never said anything either way about those kids. I never even brought them up. It was another argument for the sake of argument post.

And in the case of that dude and that incident, I have always believed that Fox News is partially culpable for reinforcing whatever madness was already there. I never said it was all their fault, but to claim they had no influence whatsoever is ludicrous.

And I'd best get out of here, because it's rapidly turning into a wanna take a swing at everything kinda night. [emoji17]

Well i for one don't recall either Doom or Marilyn Manson ever claiming the people from school where trying to take away people's trench-coats...

I mean there's a difference between gore/lyrics about violence and feeding people's paranoia with BS.

Sure, those people where already unhinged, but there's a reason some targeted people they had personal issues with and other targeted cops.
