Pretty self explanitory. Your favorite Superhero or Villain, maybe something obscure, maybe something mainstream. Let's see em!

Helps to say who you're "sporting" for the less comic-read who might wonder.

Does Buffy count as a superhero?
She fights (and sexes) evil with super strength, agility and stamina, so I don't see why not.

Huh... we went from having two TNGs to none, you notice?

Weird.
I could change my name to True North Gruebeard.

(I mean, I've already insinuated myself into the position of Grue, I might as well take TNG from Neon, too.)

Damn, I tried to get Lieutenant Dwarf from Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, but the new Forum refuses to resize it. Goddammit.

I don't think that's any more of a superhero than Kitty Sinatra.

#17

I wouldn't tell that to a sociopathic Plingon who doesn't bathe...

That's because it's part VI in a homebrew series. The first ones were crapoliciously bad animations, but the film just before the Pirkinning was a live-action film that basically parodied First Contact. You know, CPP Kickstart ending up in the past following the Korg who try to kill the rockstar Cochbrain so that his music doesn't arouse the curiosity of a passing Vulgar ship. The end result? Pirk, Info and Dwarf accidentally blow up their Korg-taken ship, Cochbrane meets the Vulgars and our heroes are trapped in a world that doesn't know frost-proof leotards and twinklers. But luckily there's hamburgers - with double cheddar.

In all honesty, there's not that many people who've seen the prequels.

Oh, hey, you hold exactly the opposite opinion that I have on that. I love when a superhumanly strong alien or magical character doesn't look it. After all, it's the magic or the alien nature that gives them the strength, not muscle. A lot of ki-energy based anime actually explicitly hits that topic.

Sera's skinny Wonder Woman: Yeah, a wee bit too skinny, but still kinda hot.

Shego's JCM-expected Amazonians: Uuuuh... sorry, no. I call it my Midget-Giant rule: don't snu-snu things that can either break you or be broken by you.

Well neither strikes me as muscular in any way...then again the WW in Sera's avatar is exaggeratedly thin.

Hughes is a really, really old hand at the pinup super hero cover art. His Star Wars stuff is really amazing too. No one is comicdom has ever accused him of the same things Greg Land or Brian Hitch get hell for.

Yeah, he even does convention sketches that are amazing right on hand.

I think it's unfair to lump Bryan Hitch and Greg Land together like that. Hitch uses models for inspiration (and openly admits it), but looking at his work on JLA and the Authority and FF4, etc, and saying that all he did is trace porn models is ridiculous when you also look at his his backgrounds, sense of scale, and even just his action. Hitch's worst flaw is that he's late all the goshdarn time.

Greg Land, on the other hand, completely denies tracing porn models while doing pages and pages of stuff like this:

I've seen all of those before, but at least for the middle one I don't care so much, unless he copied someone else's work. I think it's cool to stage photos yourself and turn them into drawings. Ex Machina isn't any less awesome a comic because Tony Harris likes to do that.

It's Land's insistence on tracing glamour/nudes/porn shots as if they're all interchangeable and acceptable as visual storytelling, and then claiming that he doesn't do that, or when he practically copies someone else's work almost line for line.

#112

Shegokigo

You know something weird? I discovered the whole porn-face thing not through reading comics, but by searching to see if anyone had done it. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I mean, the outfits worked, and the faces were really expressive.... though now that I see it in action, it just looks like porn.
