Shoutbox vs. Analytics

I just added a real-time analytics program to see if I can help figure out what works and what doesn't. So far, Shoutbox....doesn't. In addition, it takes resources that can be put to better use.

It was a good attempt but no deal.


Would anyone really care if I sent the Shoutbox into oblivion?

While the shoutbox is funny, if the resources can be put to better use, then I say get rid of it. I don't use it as much as other users, though.

Didn't use it after a couple times. Go ahead and kill it.

Though the analytics geek in me is compelled to ask, are you basing your numbers on views or usage? And if you're basing it on views, are you using a javascript pixel or is it counting the http queries for the app? And is there a discrepancy with the number of views of Shoutbox versus the number of views of the page where Shoutbox loads?

Turns out getting drunk texts from a guy a couple hours away from me in timezones doesn't leave a lot of room for response. Sorry. Usually when you text/call me drunk, I've been drunk and asleep for an hour or so.
