Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

What bank is that? I've never had that problem.

Granted, I usually use the drive thru teller, and only rarely walk inside the bank, but I haven't done an ATM deposit in... almost 20 years.
Technically they can do it but every time I've tried, they always walk me to the ATM to show how I can do it there. Its like, I know that doing even the slightest modicum of work can be awful, but maybe you should try to assume your customers have a general idea of what technology is, at least the customers under 70.

A real, physical teller? A guy at a booth? Who gives you money? Where you don't have to make an appointment and only for serious business? Man, labor in the USA really is still cheap, huh? :p
I think the view of my bank, which literally has 12 drive-thru tellers, might give your EuroBrain an aneurysm.

That's one drive-thru ATM and 12 drive-thru tellers, with lots of asphalt behind for the cars to line up behind them (this picture was taken from the exit). Each one of those tubes goes to a person in the bank. That's how I do 99% of my non-online banking.

Madness.
A) A drive-through bank - because getting out of your car is un-American
B) A bank - even a big one - with more than 5 people in it
C) Non-online banking

Most big banks here actually charge you money to talk to an actual person. Using the ATM is free, getting money from a teller - for those banks who even still have them - has a surcharge. We don't even have the space for that kind of "bank". MADNESS.

I think I set foot in a bank about once last year. I only used the ATM when I absolutely had to have cash. Everything takes cards now.

Using the ATM is free, here, too (if you are an account holder at the bank).

And I don't even shut off my car's engine while I'm banking.

Besides, drive thru banking's kinda fun. You do everything through this thing:

It has one of these things in it:

You just put the check/cash/paperwork/whatever in the capsule, put it in the tube launcher, and FWWOOOSH it flies up the tube and into the bank... and then a minute later it SsSSSHHOOOOOP (thud) comes back with a receipt.[DOUBLEPOST=1471642563,1471642474][/DOUBLEPOST]

I only use it when I have to deposit cash or a paper check. For some reason my credit card company insists on snail-mailing me a paper check for my cashback reward points instead of going electronic like everything else on earth.

You can also drop off your captured ghosts there.

Drive-thru banking really is great, though. Especially when I used to have to do deposit drops and change orders for work, it was incredibly quick to drive through, drop off/pick up and continue on to work.

Also, I'll be 100% honest here, I didn't even know ATMs could do deposits.

They can! You just have to put it all in an envelope, put it in the slot, and pray to god you did every little thing right, filled out every line, dotted every I and crossed every T, because if you fucked up or forgot to sign something, you're gonna have to come back later to fix it, once somebody figures it out.

Another advantage of having a live, human teller, be it drive-thru or walk-in.

My bank can handle deposits without envelopes. I can even do checks that were written out by hand. its kind of amazing.

I JUST WISH THERE WERE MULTIPLE ATMS AVAILABLE!

Weird. Put card in, put money in, select what account to transfer the money to, done. What the heck would you need an envelope for? Your ATMs are just little boxes with midgets working inside, aren't they?

Well, like I said, it HAS been almost 20 years.

Actually, for years, all of the Wells Fargo ATMS have been envelope free. Pretty sure they're not the only one. I haven't had to fill out deposit slip or anything like that in years.

The machine sucks in your money, counts it, and when you verify the count, it immediately applies it to your account. If you're depositing checks, it uses OCR to read the check amounts and prints a copy on your receipt.

Ok banks if you're gonna have bank tellers tell me that I can't really do deposits and withdraws with them and should use the ATM instead, maybe have more than one ATM so I don't have to wait for this guy who seems to have no idea how one works.
Yeah every time I go in they say "oh did you know about the ATM or using your phone?" and I'm like "NO WHAT IS MACHINE I AM JUST A FRIGHTENED CAVEMAN AND YOUR FUTURE TECHNOLOGY CONFUSES ME"

I find it weird that so many things are automated in Europe, but when Americans automate the gears on a car, we're the bad ones.

You actually have something of a point.

Though, do you get more fun out of using a human teller instead of a machine? Or cash register, or whatever? I do get more fun out of a stick :p

I'm staying with my family for a week and we plan to do some sight seeing and visit a historical village. I went through and decided which lenses to bring, packed the related filters, charged batteries, charged spares and packed my tripod and shutter cables......and left both camera bodies at home. FML

Can you rent any where you're going? They won't have the IR, but at least you'll have pictures.

Oooog..... slept badly yesterday, worked overnight. Get off at 0700, have a major case in court at 0930 that I CAN'T get out of, have a group photo for the riot team at 1300, Honor Guard at 1730.... and back to work at 2230.

I might be sick tonight...

That's an awesome idea. I checked around and the main store doesn't rent them out :(

My father suggested pawn shops which I'll try.

I also had a look at Best Buy and they have some great deals on mirror-less ones. It would be cool to have a small one for back packing...

Had radiator replaced in car last week.

Car overheated on way to work, like 5 miles from my house.

May install exhaust pipe in mechanic.

I'm torn. I'd like to spend my evening putting together a video that enjoys a chuckle at Terrik's expense, but on the other hand, I'm really eager to get back into Rimworld >_<
