[TV] The Doctor Who Thread

Wish World

Okay episode. It felt like it had things to say about our world, through the metaphor of a seemingly right-wing utopia. But it ultimately doesn't really say anything of substance. The episode as a whole felt more like setup and exposition for the next episode. It has some great visuals, some interesting callbacks, but I walked away mostly feeling underwhelmed by this one. If the finale sticks the landing, then this one might be worth it, but we'll see next week.

The episode was structured very oddly, even for a setup episode. The audience was given the answers before the mysteries were even established. Also, the Doctor isn't really an active participant in the story. It isn't even that he is actively doing something and is mistaken or out-smarted. Right now, he's just there. He's just a plot point in someone else's story.
