[TV] The What Animation Are You Watching Thread 2!: The Sequel!

OK KO Lets Be Heroes

So they had Sonic and Tails show up... and I kind of lost it when KO brings up the time Sonic won both the Summer and Winter games (complete with despondent Mario in the background).

For me it was when Sonic straight up said "That's no good"-GRAH-I hate that this show is getting cancelled!

Metalocalypse is still one of the funniest shows of all time and a grand rewatch of the whole series only takes like 6 hours.

Does that include Doomstar Requiem? I STILL listen to that all the time.

(If you want the proper Metalocalypse finale, listen to Galaktikon 2: Become the Storm and change the names and plot only very slightly.)

I love both Galaktikon albums and the Doomstar Requiem. Though, it sucks how poorly CN has treated Brendan Small and Metalocalypse in general, Doomstar is a pretty satisfying finale with them ascending in the end.

It's a bit stinging to see them having Dethklok headlining their on-going festival right now. I'm wondering who they got to do it.

Netflix is going to make a He-Man animated series.

It's going to have Kevin Smith as it's showrunner.

But it's not going to be a reboot. Masters of the Universe: Revelation, "will pick up where the original animated show left off." Smith says it could be "the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor" and that it will be "the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid."

I'm sure this will excite a lot of people, but not me.

I was kind of hoping for it to be more in like with the current She-Ra show, which is a lot of fun and dorky.

I think it's probably smart to go old school, since She-Ra is already doing it's own thing, no need to step on it's toes.

I don't care at all about He-Man, so I'm not the audience

Doesn't matter. If Hasbro tries to make action figures and they don't sell, they'll cancel this one just as fast as the last one.

Which is weird, because I have pretty clear memory of old smodcasts from WAAAAY back when of Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier literally talking about how they never gave a shit about 80's cartoons because they were too old for them.

Now suddenly he wants to give He-Man fans what they've always wanted?

NOT A REAL FAN KEVIN.

(No one's actually a real fan of He-Man. It was always poop)

PS:

Go watch Invader Zim on Netflix, I laugh cried twice and normal laughed quite a few times more. I don't think anything will be as funny to me as Gir on the donkey.

OK K.O. Lets Be Heroes

Things are coming to a head and we've got some of the best episodes we've gotten in awhile. But I have just one question...

Did Fink turn into 12 oz. Mouse for like a split second there? I thought that was a crack theory, but then the show fucking did it during "Let's Get Shadowy"! For like... a solid second. Did Ian just think the theory was hilarious and put it in as a joke or is there some actual connection to 12 oz. Mouse and it's production team? I know it's getting another series in 2020.

Like, what the hell? Is this just a reference to the meme?

Ducktales is back so...

Whatever Happened to Donald Duck? - They get right into the midseason cliff hanger, I appreciate it. Fun Donald-centric episode.

Happy Birthday, Doofus Drake - Dewey and Goldie pull a con on Doofus and it's got some really fucked up moments. Loved it.

A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill! - The kids enter a dreamscape and live through each other's dreams! This gets messed up too, for a kid's show anyway.

Dewey's is LITERALLY just Saved by the Bell. The school is drawn with Bayside High's exact layout. Even the music sounds similar.

More Ducktales!

The Golden Armory of Cornelius Coot! - The kids ditch a boring field trip to find the long lost treasure of the founder of Duckburg!

Timephoon! - Louie's latest scheme is ruining Time! This is actually a fun throwback to the 90's show's later seasons.

GlomTales! - Flintheart Glomgold tries one last plan to beat Scrooge and take his wealth!

The Richest Duck in the World! - Spoilery Follow-up to the last one!

Moonvasion! - The finale for Season 2! Lots of callbacks to Seasons 1 and 2.

-Scrooge actually does the pogo stick onto baddies thing from the games during this, as well as his trademark golf swing.

- Holy shit, I lost it when Donald did a perfect impression of Mickey.

- "Not reassuring he went down, instead of up," is probably the best line of the season.

- Epic Space Version of the Moon theme!

... and we get a setup for Season 3, which has already been announced. Should be fun when it eventually hits sometime next year.

Since he is in, anybody thinks we get a special appearance by a certain someone?

We can only hope, we can only hope...for real I don't get why Mickey can't come to play, like come ON there are SCORES of comics where Mickey's a straight up detective, let him go on adventures with his college friend Donald dammit!

Don't get me wrong, LOVE the modern Paul Ruddish shorts, but I'd be re-missed if I didn't say that he ain't used to his full potential.

We're getting Goofy next season, so I'd suspect Mickey's gonna be a surprise guest.

A nice little overview of cancelled Disney animated features in chronological order. A few a knew about like "Kingdom of the sun" or "American Dog" but others like "Hiawatha", "Wild Life" or "My People" I never heard about and blew me away.

Huh. Didn't figure we'd see more of that show. Good for Aaron Mcgruder, though. I was def a fan of the show.
I think Aaron's done with Adult Swim after The Adventures of Black Jesus (which I thought was great) didn't get another season. Plus there's the whole "two episodes of the Boondocks didn't air because of BET" thing.

Transformers Prime Wars Trilogy

Oooooooooooooh my Primus, that was so good, that was so good, that was so GOOD! Its like, EVERYTHING I love about Transformers and MORE-to the point where I legit don't CARE how this fits into G1(probably more a continuation of the Marvel comics universe from what I can tell).
