Hey Halforums, I got fired today. I am so scared. I feel like a complete failure. I am too embarrassed to post this as under my name. It took so long to get this job, and i haven't even been here a year. This is the first time that I have been fired, and it fucking sucks. It hurts worse than I thought it would.

Getting fired is the absolute worst. Next to my family getting hurt, it's my worst nightmare.

I wish I could do more than utter a few words of condolence because that just seems so empty a gesture.

I've been fired before for messing up at work. Truly, it is a fucking wretched feeling in so many ways. My sympathies, man.

Well, I didn't go to work today but not for any mental health reasons.
My parents' dog has been digging into the trash at night and spreading it all over the living room after we go to bed. She's a border collie/walker hound mix, so she's a decent sized dog. I get up in the middle of the night and notice that she's done it again, so I grab a broom to start cleaning up in the living room. As soon as I get close to her with it, she's starts growling at me. At this point I'm tired, pissed, and done with her bullshit so I try to grab her by the collar to remind her who's boss. She proceeds to bite down into my hand and not let go. I didn't have to go to the hospital, but she tore me up pretty well. Hurts like hell and I couldn't get back to sleep for the rest of the night.

Is that a new behavior? If so, you should probably go to the hospital to make sure you don't get an infection and also take the dog to the vet.

I cleaned it up right away and have been using antibacterial wipes to keep it clean when I redress it. Haven't had any issues yet, but I've been cautiously watching how I feel. Yeah, don't want to end up like that one lady that had to get her limbs amputated recently after a bite. She's snapped before, but never actually bitten. I've never liked this dog, she's territorial and very stubborn.

I've been fired before. It doesn't feel good. You'll recover though, because being fired doesn't mean you're a failure. Job hunting sucks, but you can do it, and you'll find a job that's a better fit than the previous one.

It thunderstorms every night. The humidity is like 169% It was so muggy yesterday that I wanted to dig a hole deep and live there.

Alberta is usually pretty dry in the summer, this is very, very out of the norm. The humidity is killing me.

It's much better today. Cooler at least.

Our relative humidity drops to about 10% by mid-day, but it goes up overnight to over 50% and doesn't drop significantly until about a couple of hours after sunrise. Monsoon season is the one part of the year where the "It's a dry heat" thing goes out the window. Yes, we're drier than everywhere else in NA (save, of course, other parts of the desert like Cali and NM), but this is the wettest part of the year for us.

And it's damn miserable at times.

It's probably the mental illness talking (it can screw with libido), but I am having some seriously inappropriate and distracting thoughts re:a family friend.
Welp.
I had a chance.
I didn't take it.
Now I get to have 'what if?' fantasies.

So frustrating.

And your relative humidity is.... around 30%? It’s 82 here, with a 78% humidity, so feels like it’s in the 90s. Instant soaking sweat day.
30% is humid af around these parts. But I agree that the 100+ is really not that bad when your sweat can actually evaporate. ;)

I was the audience and he was calling me a predator. It is a hilarious thought. I mean really, what could I kill?

Maybe a bag of Doritos now and then.

We were over at a friend's place the other night doing some stargazing (their property is darker and has fewer trees than ours), and while we were setting up at dusk, the mosquitoes were out if force. No worries! We have bug spray. I sprayed all the exposed areas, and figured I was fine.

Well, my arms, feet, and face are fine, but my hips and ass looks likes I have chicken pox. So many bug bites! I don't know how they got through my shorts and skirt, but boy did they. So itchy!!

I feel this, so much. I was touring a property a week ago, and I was wearing slacks (I'd come straight from work). It was about 7pm so the mosquitoes were out in force. I got one bite on my elbow... and SIX on my legs. WTF.

I can - and do - read HF at work. But my work blocks Twitter links, and Facebook feeds, and a bunch of image sites like imgur and reddit.
Meaning half the posts here are blank, or just show an image saying content was removed, or similar.
It's annoyiiiiiiiing. Whaaaah!

Sure, I can read the other half of the forum on my phone, but that just means I forget where iIm typing a reply and reply twice, or not at all, and it's also annoying!

Looooong day today. First day of school for MPS.

And of course I wake up to the news that Phoenix broke its record high for the day yesterday.
