What are you playing?

I got Monster Hunter Stories with my gift card :)

Happy day! I was a very nice person and I’m going to wait and start the new Pokémon game with my kids.

They told me at EB Games that evidently these are the last Pokemon games for the 2DS/3DS systems. The next one will be released on the Nintendo Switch. Then they tried to sell me one lol. It nearly worked!

Ran into a game breaking bug in my latest playthrough of Divinity: Original Sin 2. Can't speak to spirits, at all.

Hope this game gets some patching soon, because it's one of the best RPGs I've ever played, but these bugs really do take some of its shine off.

How the heck did you manage that?

Dunno. My mouse just doesn't turn into the talk icon when I hover the mouse over spirits. Right clicking also doesn't show a "talk" option. Discussions online about this bug offer no solutions, they say the only thing to do is to load an earlier save. I've loaded all my autosaves and quicksaves, but they all have this bug.

Oh well. I'll come back to this game after it's had a patch or two. There's plenty to play in the meantime.

Wait, you're supposed to talk to spirits instead of instantly eating them?!

Heh. Custom building: Gasbandit's Bean Cannery - replaces Granary in modern age. Generates +1 food if Freedom ideology selected. +2 gold if city also has a Broadcast Tower.

Started playing Jotun, so far the game is slow, combat is clunky, bosses are unforgiving but not really difficult, and the only thing it's really got going is that it's pretty. But good graphics and pleasant music don't make a good game. Maybe it'll improve.

Doki Doki Literature Club.

Play it.

Don't look up anything about it anywhere, just go to steam and get it, it's free.

It'll take you less than 5 hours.

Do it.

That doesn't matter as much as you think.
It probably matters exactly as much as I think.
I didn't think it mattered very much, actually. I just wanted to make the joke.

EDIT: Huh. Looks like it's not "free" so much as "free to play right now."

So, after deciding that Divinity: Original Sin 2 is currently too buggy to continue with, I decided to fire up Subnautica again, and see what the latest updates have brought.

A couple of hours into the game, the floor of my lifepod becomes incorporeal, which makes me fall out of my lifepod and into the water whenever I try to fabricate something or check my messages. Oh Subnautica, some things never change.

I think I need to find a game that doesn't have as many egregious bugs.

Have you ever considered Space Engineers? :troll:

But to be serious for a moment, anyone interested in Space Engineers, (or likes subnautica but wants less bugs), I'd really recommend Empyrion. They're making impressive progress, and I haven't seen a gamebreaking bug in at least 3 major patch versions :p

It got worse. I think I'm giving up. I don't want this frustration right now. Glad I got this for free.

I wonder if there are any good Let's Plays...

@Squidleybits, you'll be happy to note that I just picked up a 2DS for my daughter, with 2 Pokemon games. She's been begging to play them for a while, and I figure that, at 7, she SHOULDN'T have TOO much in the way of issues with it. Not the way she devours gameplay videos on Youtube, at any rate.

Teach her to level everything equally!

Awesome!!! Are you playing as well?

My son is 8 now, but he's been playing for a few years now. He's had no issues with the last few generations of games. He's had a ton of fun with them :)

Monster Hunter Stories is super cute! It’s like Monster Hunter meets Pokémon and we get to fight next to each other.

They’ve set it up so your game saves to your SD card though, so no Power Saves :(
