The 20-pound carp's rise to social media fame started after he was pulled from a small pond in West Park and released into the Huron River. Some months later, he announced via Twitter that he was running for public office.

Carp says he's focusing his campaign efforts on the 4th Ward, where Democrat Jack Eaton is the only candidate on the ballot, but he can't help it if his supporters stray across borders and write in "Twenty Pound Carp" in other wards.
