Looks like my mouse is having mild issues and I'm due for a new one.

My current mouse is the Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 1000 and it fits nearly all my needs. I'm looking for an ambidextrous solution (as I use the mouse for both hands) so curved mice aren't what I seek.

I'm not a fan of wireless tech simply because I've never been a fan of recharging batteries all the time as well as they having a noticeable lag when I game.

The only drawback of my current mouse is that I wish it had a better DPI. It's OK but I'd like it to be more sensitive as my settings in my CP are at max and it's decent.

Any suggestions?

I love their site. The link is for the US site. Unlike *some*, it doesn't hide all its info, or force-forward me to an international version, nor does it simply act like they have no international site.
Instead, I get a nice message at the bottom saying that this is the US site, and that I might want to go to the international site to see more appropriate info and unicorns.

Any other suggestions?

This guy is on sale. I haven't used one though, so I can't offer much in that area.

The reviews for the raw version state the materiel for raw is bad and metal is awesome + other features.

This guy, maybe? He's not specific as to whether this specific mouse is the Raw, though he has quite a number of other deals.

All this still valid? My mouse has been going wonky lately. An old Logitech G9. I don't need a "gaming" mouse, but something that can DPI change on the fly would be good. Other than that, I just want the normal buttons, wheel, and forward/back side buttons. Any more probably wouldn't be used much. And the bigger the better. My hands are gigantic. Not like Andre the Giant hands, but still, I am a 6'7" guy, and my hands are proportionally big.

I really like my logitech G700. My only gripe with it is the cord is stiff as hell. It's supposed to be used as either wired or wireless, though, so I could detach it if it really bugged me that much... it's just my tower is kinda far away and the mouse reception isn't great, so I keep it plugged in to use it usually. But it does DPI adjust on the fly, can go freewheel on the scrolling wheel for those long ass pages (I can never go back from this feature), and 4 buttons by the thumb, which I remap to be forward/back/refresh/middle button because I hate clicking a wheel.

Hah, and now that G700's cord is giving out. Every dozen minutes or so (though the delay gets shorter over time) it'll just stop working for about a second, then resume as normal. I've searched all over support forums, thinking it was a software/driver issue, but every single one of those threads (of various logitech mice) was ended by a "turns out it was the cord, logitech's cords just suck it seems" post where, after a while, the cord just eventually gave out.

Gonna have to get a new mouse again. The G700 is also cordless, but my PC is just barely far enough away from where my mousing surface is to make it also sometimes not receive. It's a bit discouraging, because if this is going to happen with any logitech mouse, what else is there? Razer I guess?

Depends on how attached you are to those buttons on the top. There's the Razr Mamba or the Steelseries Naga, but if you gotta have the buttons, then you're gonna have to go with something that looks unweildy, or just get another G700 and rig up a better strain relief before it starts to go bad.

It's the buttons on the side I like more, that and the wheel that I can disengage the friction at will. I'd *like* 4 buttons on the side... but it's not a dealbreaker.

I looked. Razer has mice that have 6 or even 12 buttons on the side, but I didn't see too many that had those extra buttons on the top.

I ran a Rat-7 for years until it recently gave up the ghost. Now, I picked up a relatively cheap G8 gaming mouse that was on sale at our local awesome computer store, Memory Express (seriously great store). It's perfectly adequate for my gorilla big hands (has a great little pinky shelf on it even). I'm very happy with it so far. It was a steal at 30 bucks. Looking forward to see how it holds up.

I've been going to them since the 90s: Memory Express

They started out as a little hole-in-the-wall place in Calgary right near Chinook Centre (across from Doppler Computers, if you remember back that far), but had ACTUAL expertise that you could talk about the benefits of 32MB vs 64MB of RAM, etc. The contrast with Doppler could not be overstated (headcounts in that place) and they were across the street. Doppler was flashy and best-buy-like (when that didn't exist in Canada yet), whereas Memory Express had maybe 20x10ft of actual space for the customers, with things like miscellaneous computer cables up on the wall for purchase. Geek heaven really.

And now they have 7 stores in 3 provinces. Whenever I'm back west, I go there. That place bar none has built more computers for me than any other, those times when I didn't want to build it myself.

I know I recommended the Sensei/Sensei Raw earlier, but now there's the new Sensei 310 to consider if you like buttons, wheel, and DPI switching, or the Rival 310 if you prefer a mouse specifically canted towards righties.

I am going to miss my Logitec mx518 when it finally dies. I need to find some pad replacements for it. It is 13 years old and still going strong.

I can't find anything as good as that mouse.

I miss my old classic Intellimouse Explorer. Fit my hand WONDERFULLY, but unfortunately died. I'll wait for reviews on this one (if only occasionally, I still do use Linux), but if even somewhat good, I'm getting one.

But one complaint: why the hell in the promo shots do they NEVER show the left-hand side? Idiots. I want to know where my thumb goes please!

The Logitech M330 is supposed to be pretty good at that, and it's only $15 on Amazon. Maybe check some video/sound reviews?
