Don't know where to start really, it's like a fixture of your life is gone.

I stopped watching the Telethon back in the late 90s when I moved out of my parents' place and/or was working on Labor Day too often, but it was a fixture in our house for my entire childhood. I'll certainly miss him.

This was one of those "mixed feelings" times. He did do a lot to elevate the MDA and fundraising, but he got really, really bitter there at the end.

Of course, with all the slapstick and pratfalls he did in his lifetime, it's nothing short of amazing that he managed to make it to 91.

I saw the headline about this, but wasn't able to find stuff until today.

MDA's statement: https://www.mda.org/jerry-lewis-longtime-mda-national-chairman-telethon-star-and-humanitarian-dies

Basically just a sad that he's gone, here's what he did type thing.

I grew up with Jerry Lewis. The Nutty Professor and The Bellboy were two of my favorites. He was my introduction to physical comedy, bringing me into the Tim Conway/Don Knotts type of comedy movies as a child. You could tell, for the past few years, the he had become less connected with reality and expectation. I hope that we get to see more of what he did, and what went wrong, with The Day the Clown Cried.
