He was a pigeon-loving nutjob but definitely brilliant. He got so fixated on trying to provide free energy to everyone everywhere anytime that he spent half his life begging for money. He was a lousy businessman who had a fountain of marketable ideas and no direction to carry it all out. Reading his biography was fascinating but painful. In many ways his life was a tragedy but he provided us with radio, fluorescent lightbulbs (oddly, not credited to him), AC power, a variety of electric motors, remote control, and various other mechanical and electrical wonders. He was a wizard of his time who had a clear vision of our future but not his own. Happy birthday, Mr. Tesla.
