I created a group on Yahoo for our brackets. It uses default scoring. No cost of entry, and no prizes (from me anyway), this is just for fun.

I totally forgot to set one up. I have the software, but just haven't done it. I dropped the proverbial ball, as it were.

So was I.

Joined and picked.

Decided to go chalk with two notable exceptions.

I'll just leave this here...

Didn't even get to use their own arena. Had to schlep all the way to Beautiful Downtown Moon Township.

How's THAT for a "one and done," Calipari?

Here we go!

Welp, my bracket's busted.

#11

Whew, good thing I didn't pick Gonzaga to come out of the West...

I'm the only person who has both picks for the finals still active and I'm still last.

#13

jwhouk

But you still have the highest potential point total.

However, if Louisville gets to the Final, I'm probably the winner.

#14

Dave

Dave

I thought the games started a day later than they did. This is the first year I haven't gotten a bracket. I'd have sucked, but I'd have had one.

#15

I think I had a maximum 121 possible this morning, now I'm all done.

Aaaand I'm out.

Not the way I wanted to win a bracket game, but hey.

So um, holy shit that leg injury.

#19

Timmus

Timmus

You can do that just by jumping?

I'm never jumping again!

#20

bhamv3

Seriously man, after seeing that I'm just going to sit on my ass all day, every day. It's safer.

EDIT: Kidding aside though, apparently while he was lying on his back, he kept telling his team mates to go back and win this thing. That's pretty badass right there. Hope he makes a quick and full recovery.

If you haven't seen the leg...Ouch.

I'm sorry, I can't bring myself to click that spoiler.

I did... and instantly regretted it. It's worse than Theismann.

it's cool how the NCAA turns the "student-athletes" into indentured labor and he has no recourse to make any money

#25

jwhouk

jwhouk

And, being a southerner, you'd know something about that "indentured servanthood" thing, wouldn't ya?

...You know, that does explain the success of the SEC...

Jimmy the Greek would agree.

#28

Louisville wouldn't actually do this, but they theoretically could take away his scholarship after this year. It wouldn't surprise me though if some schools do take them away after a low profile injury. The NCAA should (among many other things) make it so players get guaranteed 4 year scholarships.

I wasn't going to make the slavery comparison, but

That's what "indentured servitude" is, right? I mean, it's right there in the Constitution.

Looks like Michigan made it, and I suppose I'll be watching it tonight, since my wife is somewhat interested.

GO BLUE!

Rooted for Michigan but that was a great game.

Rick Pitino is a very, very, VERY lucky man.

I'd suggest betting on whatever horse he has in the Kentucky Derby next month.

#35

Dave

Dave

Well, that and his team is pretty good.

#36

BErt

Fuck all of the things. Forever.

Is that a thing? Yes? Then fuck it.

Fuck.

#37

jwhouk

jwhouk

C'mon. Only thing everyone knew was gonna happen going in was that Louisville was gonna win it all. The other 57 games were the hard ones to pick.

#38

BErt

Nah, they weren't all that impossible. I knew for a fact Bo Ryan wouldn't be in the Final Four :awesome:

That little back up guard for Michigan was freaking amazing in the first period. That basket must have looked 10 foot wide to him.

This would be funny even if I wasn't a Kentucky fan:

papajohn.jpg

If you don't recognize him, that is John "Papa John" Schnatter. Louisville's football stadium is named after Papa John's, & he is a big time booster for UofL athletics (he's also a pretty big backer of UK sports too).

Bahhh I can't begrudge him this. 27 years is a long time ;)
