The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

$3/hour raise because I completed my degree? Why, yes, I believe I will accept that.
To make this even better, it just happened to be pajama day for the school and I was subbing in 1st grade. A student in my class was celebrating his birthday today and his parents brought in rice crispy treats for snack. The lead teacher brought in brownies for the kids and their reading buddies from 3rd and 4th grade to have after lunch. Also, most of the morning was taken up by the 1st & 2nd grade spelling bee.

Short version: Today I got paid to sit around in my pajamas, eat treats, and do about 1 hour's worth of actual work.

Man, pajama day would get pretty embarrassing for me. With emphasis on the bare ass.

Normally I wear just a shirt and underwear to bed. I have pj bottoms because I don't like getting dressed right away in the morning and often our front door is open (the house is built in such a way that we don't get much natural light with the door closed). I really don't want to put the neighbors through the horror of seeing me without pants.

Same here. Although I have subjected my neighbors to my collection of garishly printed pajama bottoms. No one has rang the doorbell asking for fashion advice. :(

Buck naked, even in winter.
ESPECIALLY in winter. It lets your sheets and blankets absorb more of your body heat and reflect it back to you, keeping you nice and toasty warm.

I do however wear a T-shirt and PJs and boxers after getting out of bed but before showering / getting ready for work, etc.

But what about those sneaky warmth bandits whose ice cold feet seek out your toasty toes and freeze them to popsicles?

Oh my. How should I respond to this?

That's why I only pay for an hour.

Yeah, that's less dreary than the truth. I'll stick that.

WOOHOO!

I've survived 24 hours straight in Disneyland/California Adventure!

Currently importing photos from 5 or so SD cards, probably over 4000 shots, I'll work on sorting editing and correcting them for weeks. It will be fun.

We spent May 19-23 at Disneyland & California Adventure, including the final day being the 24 hour Diamond Celebration (Disneyland's 60th Anniversary) kickoff, 24 continuous hours inside the Disney parks. Had a blast, but honestly have to say that I prefer the Walt Disney World parks in Florida, but that is only personal opinion. Saw all the shows (Fantasmic!, World of Color, Paint the Night Parade, Disneyland Forever fireworks (twice because we saw the media preview from our hotel on Thursday night) and the new World of Color Celebrate) rode all the rides (including Matterhorn that opened again the morning of the 24 hour event) and ate what we wanted.

Our daughter and her boyfriend are still together after all this, so it might just be for real.

I'll post photos and write more after some more rest, right now I still need more after the previous 48. Got up Friday morning at 5am, finished packing and got it all in the car, went to Disneyland at 6am, stayed there until 6am Saturday morning, left the park, went back to our hotel (they allowed us to keep the car parked there even though we didn't have a room that night), drove to Newport Beach, goofed off at the beach for a little while (was chilly, about 58f) drove down Balboa Peninsula to try to get on a whale watching boat (they were full), and walked around and goofed off some more. Left Newport Beach, drove up the Pacific Coast Highway seeing the sights, really started to get tired, and made our way back to LAX to get on our flight and come home. From 5am Friday, until 3am Sunday I got maybe 3 hours total sleep. Mostly just the catnap variety and finally slept about 9 hours in my own bed this morning, got out of the house to pick up the Pugs from my mother and visit for a little while, and now gonna go get a little nap again.

He paid his flight, I paid for everything else but buying souvenirs. He's our "other" kid, seems when she started dating him that they spend an awful lot of time here.
