Good Cosplay Thread - pt3 - The Pros of Cons

Seriously? That's the best compliment you can think of? Try having a little class. I know you love to be controversial, but I am sick of seeing guys who think that such vulgarity is an appropriate way to express their appreciation of a woman.

Miss Lee, if you're reading this thread, I'm sorry your wonderful costuming has drawn such comments. That goes for all the wonderful ladies who have been featured here. I sincerely hope that you will tune out such crude and uncreative comments, and only listen to those who speak more respectful words. Your cosplay is wonderful, and the effort you put into your costumes is clearly evident. You have a obvious attention to detail and you wear the characters very well. Thank you for being awesome.

You were ok until that excessive white knightish second paragraph. Then it was a plane in tailspin.

Eh... will happen again.
No, it won't. Not in this thread.

I've given this a lot of thought, and either the sexual comments stop, or this thread does. "I'd hit it" is not a compliment, it's objectification, and I'm sick of it. I don't care what anyone else thinks. This is to appease my conscience.

Comments in this thread will be respectful, starting now, or I won't be posting anything.

Do you have any mod powers to do that, and if not, can we get you some mod powers for that purpose?

That is an AMAZING Little Sister outfit. Downright creepy, which is perfect.

There are a lot of attractive women in this thread, but the skill and work that goes into the costumes and makeup is the really impressive part.

Bodysuits are very difficult, especially being able to sew it so that it fits properly. I kind of hate them really. (Why am I cosplaying Bayonetta?!?! WHY??)

I'm glad she pulled it off easily. I can see the simplicities, but really, three days is a pretty short amount of time to do something so well.

I feel like I sound mean..but yeah!

Those are the small scales from RingLord, right? About how long did that take you? Did you use split rings or just regular rings?

You weren't complaining when people were going "I'll be in my bunk" or Shego was going "Humana humana". Not a single word of it not being okay. So going all Final Warning is a bit disingenuous.

Not that I disagree with you, because it's becoming a stigma with cosplay, but you're acting like you've been complaining about this on and on, and I've not seen that. It isn't others' fault if your mulling over it has not gone on where others can discuss it.

While I appreciate the defense Darryl and the fact you put up some excellent points as usual, I'd rather not have drama ruin this cosplay thread. It's a fantastic thread where FigmentPez puts a lot of time and effort into. I would have much rather appreciated if he could have discussed this privately with me instead of publicly complaining like he did.

He could have also said something the night where Shego decided to like 300+ of his posts in this thread because I put "it" in its place a few times a few weeks ago to get the "most likes" on this board. :)

Don't get me wrong though, I'll still fap to this but I just won't post about it.

It took me a while to decide to stand up and say something. If you don't like that it was short notice that I'd reached the end of my rope, screw you.

You know, this is figmentPez's thread. If he abruptly decides "hey, cut that shit out or no more posts," it's not like he needs to share his decision making process with us. I have no problem with it.

On the other hand, Quotemander's criticism is not unreasonable, and is certainly not deserving of a 'screw you.'

To the larger point at hand: This is from one of your own posts figmentPez.

I'm not sure if this has been answered yet, and I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is a cosplay of Jasmine You, from the visual kei band Versailles.

I'm not saying your decision's wrong. No one's entitled to your inner thought process, but in that case, don't act like it's the last straw, because as far as anyone else can tell who isn't a mind reader (and I'm pretty sure that's everyone), it was the first straw.

You're right. I've been on edge lately, but that's no excuse for rudeness. I apologize to Quotemander for being short tempered, and to everyone for being a jerk about this in general. I stand by my statements that I want comments about cosplayers to be respectful, but I shouldn't have held my feelings inside until I blew up about it.

I don't see your point. I will admit that I have posted pictures in this thread that I regret, but that's not one of them. It certainly does show a lot of skin, but it's also a well made costume (missing coin or indeterminate Pokemon aside). Moreover, since when is the way a woman is dressed an excuse to treat her like an object? I'll be the first to say that attire will effect the way that a person actually is treated, and that we should dress appropriately to what we want to convey about ourselves, but no matter how someone is dressed that is not an excuse to treat them poorly. Or is someone going to try and claim "she was asking for it" as a reason to treat a woman as a thing and not a person?

That's all I was saying. Thanks.

Agreed.

I think we're all adept enough at language to compliment a cosplay or say a man or woman (or costume) is attractive without going "when can I tap that?"
