An error in Visa's system yesterday caused several people to be billed $23,148,855,308,184,500.00 for mundane purchases, an amount more than 2,000 times the national debt.

From CNN: Glitch hits Visa users with more than $23 quadrillion charge
In a statement, Visa said the rogue charges affected \"fewer than 13,000 prepaid transactions\" and resulted from a \"temporary programming error at Visa Debit Processing Services ... [which] caused some transactions to be inaccurately posted to a small number of Visa prepaid accounts.\"
13,000 is only a "small number" when compared to 23,148,855,308,184,500

From the Consumerist:
The $23 Quadrillion Meal
The $23 Quadrillion Pack Of Cigarettes

Unruly Teen Charges $23 Quadrillion At Drugstore

That little $20 "Negative Balance Fee" is just the icing on the cake.

I remember reading that one person had to spend 2 hours arguing in order to get the $20 "Negative Fee Balance" removed.
