So last year Adam Savage posted a video of him building his first ever Gundam Plastic Model kit (aka Gunpla), and even though I've known about these kits my entire life, I had the idea the end result was just like a plastic statue.
But no. Oh nonono. These are full-fledged action figures you build in the most detailed, time-consuming manner possible. Adam Savage learning about the engineering miracle that's inside a Perfect Grade gunpla made me want to try building one too. The more intricate ones come with LEDs and even transformations. Building one is like a combination of meditation and puzzle.
And it's now one of my favorite things to do. Ever.
I've built 9 or 10 kits since January this year. Even a Buzz Lightear (WITH SPRING-LOADED WINGS) and a cool as fuck EVA-01 from Evangelion kit. A friend got me a Mandalorian kit to build but I've procrastinated that build because I had the idea to stream it on Twitch.
