Guess I should have put a better title on this discussion thread but oh well.

What movies do you wish were already on dvd this year.

For me it would have to be : Public Enemies, Star Trek, and Ice Age 3 which I'm surprised I enjoyed, and Up

Watchmen. Star Trek.

Yeah. Definitely want to see those both again. (Blu-Ray especially for Watchmen)

Watchmen is out soon though, I think. I'm not sure.

And... Up if only so that I can show it to my dad who will love it.

I wanna see Watchmen again so bad. With, like, the black freighter stuff thrown in there.

Pretty much everything Garbledina said.

Do you know?

Because the twist ending is... I AM YOU

Still have yet to see Watchmen. Given that I work at Blockbuster, I'll be able to get it for free. Still not sure if I even want to spend a free rental to watch it.

Up is a sure bet to buy. Ditto for Star Trek. Maybe Drag Me to Hell.

It's not in theatres until September, but I canNOT wait to see Whiteout.

You forgot your favorite, so I put it back on for you. Probably a cut-n-paste error, happens all the time.

Monsters vs. Aliens
The Hangover
Those cannot possibly be in the right order. Monsters vs. Aliens was pretty standard fare while The Hangover (raunchy as it was) could offer a little of something new, at least.

Watchmen comes out on the 21st here. It will probably be the only one I end up buying as well. Maybe Up and Star Trek too. I have a hard time justifying purchasing dvds or bluerays so I've never really been too big on buying them.

I honestly do not purchase a movie, unless I can see myself watching it at least once every 3-6 months.

So great movies that are "one time only" kinda things, even though they are amazing, I don't own. It's gotta have replay value.

For this year:

Underworld 3 (to complete my Trilogy set for sit down sessions)
The Spirit (Fuck you guys, it was funny)
Sherlock Holmes (If Downey is as good in the roll as I think he will be)
Inglourious Basterds (To add to my Tarantino collection)
Star Trek (Would have to turn in my Sci-Fi geek card if I didn't)

So far at least.

The Brothers Bloom
Up
Adventureland

Drag Me To Hell

I enjoyed it. I can't always watch regular horror, because my imagination runs away with me. But this was just plain funny most of the time. I don't know how you feel about silly horror.

In Sam Raimi's hands, the limits of the PG-13 rating are like Zatoichi's blindness.

It's silly and predictable at times, but it's silly on purpose. Preditability-wise, the last 30+ minutes are ridiculously telegraphed a mile away. But it's still incredibly entertaining, with some very legitimate scares.

I like my horror: Bloody, frightening, terror-inducing, nightmarish and with enough nudity to satiate.
Ex: REC, Silent Hill, Hellraiser, 28 days/weeks.

Though one series I've enjoyed that was "silly" was the FEAST series.
