I'm looking for low-residency MFA programs in Creative Writing and was wondering if anyone had any positive or negative experiences to share. The university I work for actually has a fully-funded MFA program, but they don't take part-time students. There's no way I can quit my job, forego my insurance, pay $300 in student loans a month, plan/pay for a wedding, and manage to keep other monthly bills in order on a grad student's income. Plus, the General and I are in it for the long run and I'm not asking him to give up a job that he loves in order for me to move away for 2-3 years.
Therefore, I was looking a online or low-residency programs. I have a list, but I'm doing more research on the matter. Keep in mind I'm looking for accredited institutions. Any help or advice would be welcomed! Thanks guys!!
