Mass Effect 2 Anticipation Station

If you play after the credits and talk to Legion more,
he's ton more interesting as a character. The way his faceplate animates actually conveys a lot of emotion for him, and his conversation with EDI is adorable.
Also, he occasionally breaks out into The Robot. Seems to be random, though.

Hell no, I blew that shit up, and told TIM that I'm running things, and if he's lucky he can come along for the ride. Then I hung up on him.

Felt great, too.

That's the great thing about Cerberus. You can't tell if they're good or bad, or anything in between. Their ideals sound good, and in a galaxy of so many people sitting on their ass, it's great to see a group being proactive. But they're so damn secretive that it's impossible to tell what their real goals are. If Cerberus were made too powerful, what would keep them from steamrolling the rest of the galaxy once the reapers were taken care of?

If there's a galaxy left, anyway.
Hopefully Shepard'll still be there to take them down. I mean even with the collector base they are still only human and can be stopped with a few bullets in a few deserving skulls.

The reapers on the other hand have no goals beyond our extinction and can't be taken down without new technology and even more ships.

ME3 has the potential to be so amazing. Must be a headache making consequences for so many different combinations of choices between the first and second game though.

That's a real worry. If they're going to basically trivialize everything from the first two games the same way they did pretty much everything from the first game it'll make for a pretty weak sauce ending.

Also, did you see the number of Reapers at the end there? If it would take all of the humans in existance to make 1 human reaper, how many Protheans/Collectors were there? Makes me wonder how we're gonna stop all of those. Maybe we could use a Mac to upload a virus into their unprotected network...

Protheans were unusable as reaper making material. They didn't go into why or anything but it was said that they weren't usable.

And beyond that it has been said that the Reapers have been doing this for at least a million years. Time and Time again coming in and wiping out galactic civilization which is why they call it a "cycle of extinction"

I thought they did a great job of working in the decisions from the last game. I mean many of the big dicisions have been hinted to be absolutely galaxy changing.

From what I've heard they're planning on making the changes in ME1 have solid repercussions in 3, even if you didn't really see them in 2 yet.

Well, yes, but as we see from the human Reaper, the new one seems to take on the form of whatever life was harvested for it. So, something that looked like the current reapers was harvested to create the ones we see. At the end, there are literally thousands of the things. If all of the humans in the galaxy would be needed to make 1, then some previous race must have been breeding like Krogans to supply the numbers needed to create that many.

What the hell are you going on about... "all humans in the galaxy"?! They literally never said that, they had taken hundreds of thousands and were not even halfway there, yes, and EVI wasn't sure how many more they needed just that it was a vast number... in the millions. Not the ENTIRE human race....

Also, the only Reaper we've really seen is Sovereign, they hinted at the other reapers probably each looking differently, depending on the race used to build them. They may be thousands of them, but they don't all look like Sovereign.

This is actually one of the things I am most curious about. The human-reaper was taking on physical traits of the race that forged it, which to me was making it out like the reapers don't all look like Sovereign, but instead are a massive collective of various looking reapers that were forged over millions of years during each cycle, as they took certain dominate races and broke them down into bio-metal.

Then we find the derelict reaper, and it looks just like Sovereign. We see Harbinger, and he looks just like Sovereign. Finally we see the last shot with all the reapers coming from dark space, and all of them look like Sovereign, basically giant robot space squids. It makes me wonder a few things, like are those space squids the race that actually built the reapers? And if so, did they really teach the reapers how to reproduce by literally turning organic matter into metal? Weird skill to give a giant robot.

My theory is that the space squid look is a kind of shell with the reaper itself inside. Might explain why the human reaper was only going to be like 10 stories tall whereas Sovereign was 100 times that size and why they all look the same.

I don't know. The size seems like it could be based more on the size of the origin race. The "space squids" could have been massive, meaning the process to bio-metal would have made the reaper body massive.

Also, if the space squid look is just a "shell" why does all communication with the reapers show the outer shell in holograms? Why was no inner-construct found inside the wreckage of Sovereign OR the derelict reaper? We know the derelict reaper was still "alive" since it was converting the scientists using indoctrination. Also, remember that Saren and the Heretic Geth lived inside Sovereign, so it seems odd they would make no mention of another force "driving" the shell.

I'm hoping Legion's
faction of the Geth show up and save a ton of people in M3, because they really seem like they're actually rather nice, if a bit odd due to the nature of their hive mind.

Onto the Reapers;

Keep in mind the Human-Reaper was more or less a fetus/larval stage. For all we know, after a reaper has finished 'maturing' it may automatically convert into the space-squid shape after it reconfigures and the Reapers come to claim it and induct it into their fold.

Good call on the Reapers, that may very well be it. They are most likely not static machines, more so considering what makes them.

Now as for Legion and the Geth.

I have a feeling that is going to be one of the big choices of the next game. A large chunk of the game I theorize will take place beyond the Perseus Veil, and will involve visiting the Quarian/Geth homeworld and taking part in events that were hinted in the Tali loyalty mission (What you do during that mission may even shape what is happening). You then have the chance to help the Quarians take the homeworld from the Geth, help the Geth destroy the Quarian flotilla, or help them finally put aside the ages of animosity to live together once again as equals. The last mission will be like a massive mixture of the ending of Mass Effect and the ending of Dragon Age.

Just to explain what I mean (and again this is a theory, it may not be like this at all), you will have the ability to do missions for various races, factions, and planets in order to gain further loyalty and support to take out the Reapers, similar to Dragon Age is how you did missions for certain factions in each area that shaped your final army. It will be more organic though in that based on the factions you make loyal, the whole outcome of the final mission can change, much like buying the special shields saved your squad member down in the engine room during ME2. Imagine if you will the Normandy SR2 flying towards the Reapers with the full backing of the Alliance and Citidel forces, suddenly as you are being blasted, the Geth armada or the Quarian Flotilla (or even both!) appear out of hyper-space and join the fray, saving your ass to fight on towards Harbinger (who I assume will be the big boss). Other things you did in ME1 and ME2 will even bring in other forces to fight for you, like the Rachni if you saved the queen in ME1.

I am totally excited at the possibilities. The last mission of ME2 I felt was a great design because of how dynamic it can be, and I can't wait to see how they add to it.

When you first enter the collector ship early on, they state that they are going to target Earth. And the larvae at then end is said to have taken "Hundreds of thousands" of the colonist just to get to that point. It's a skeletal superstructure that ends just below the rib cage, which wasn't fully formed. It'd take millions to make a complete skeleton and millions more to flesh it out. So yeah, maybe not every human for one, but there's not enough to make as many Reapers as shown at the end.

I really need to make time to finish up the game so I can read the spoiler tagged posts.
Take your time, it's a great game. When I finished it, I wept... for there shall be a hole in my life until the 3rd one comes out.... speakign of which... any release dates yet????

According to Wikipedia some time in 2011. No more information that I can find on sites not blocked by work.

No, rule 34 is about porn.. that's not porn. That's less than you see in a freaking episode of Friends being rerun at noon. That's making out with clothes on.

You don't actually do the nasty with Yeoman Chambers. You invite her up to your room where you don't get the paramour achievement, you don't turn down the picture of your old love and you can have her snuggle on the bed, do a dance or make out on the sofa.

It's the only F/F option for my female Shepard though, so it'll have to do.

Unless I assume Garrus is a girl. Which, I note, is not completely impossible.
