Jimmy Buffett

So many songs, so many memories listening to Jimmy Buffett as I was growing up. Want to think of something witty to say involving finding Paradise and having a cheeseburger but my words won't be sufficient.

He was one of my favorites. I am happy that I got to see him a couple of years ago.

Some people claim that there's a woman to blame.

I'm pretty sure there are people blaming a woman for literally everything.

Mr. Z told me this earlier today as I was driving and I almost swerved. I'm so, so sad about this. Jimmy Buffett was one of both my parent's favorite artists (yes, they are/were "Parrotheads"), and one of a handful of musicians I could definitely say was the background music to my childhood. They went to a number of his concerts and took me to a couple as well. When my mother was catching up on chores around the house Sunday mornings, Jimmy's albums were usually her go-to background music. I've read his short stories, and Songs You Know By Heart are still in my mp3 shuffle. Oh, and the wings at Cheeseburger in Paradise in Honolulu (now defunct) were amazing.

Rest in Peace, you glorious beach bum.
