Here are most of the big-ish awards, with some of my commentary there. Underlined choices I think are great, italicized ones I think are fucking stupid. No formatting means I either haven't seen the show or don't really care either way.

Not a bad list, but there are a few that I disagree with you on. For the most part, though, you have a very good list.

*gasp*

You must rectify this. Immediately. The scripting, the acting, the characters... just be prepared to feel like shit after every episode.

I mean that in a good way.

Isn't NPH hosting this year?
I think so.

Also I realized this was the year of eligibility for The Shield's final season, and it got absolutely zero nominations.

Nevermind, pack it in, awards show has no credibility.

I hope Michael C. Hall gets the Emmy for Dexter, he is just incredible on that series.

Dexter deserves every nomination and I hope it takes some home, MCH especially. He's so Goddadmned unnerving. Hard to put him over Hugh Laurie, though/

I like House, but Dexter is definitely the better overall show.

Aw, Socrates is up for another Emmy! :D

Also happy to see Jim Parsons nominated. I've fallen hard for Big Bang Theory and he just keeps getting better.

EDIT: AAAAH holy shit, my best friend was nominated! Editor for "Taking Chance" on HBO. WOO FUCKING HOO! Too bad he has a boyfriend now or I'd be going to the Emmys, dammit...

I don't think the boy was EVER in the closet. I've been his date to several awesome events (including when he won an ACE award for editing Lackawanna Blues, and the premiere of The Laramie Project which he also edited) but now he's practically married.

This season of Dexter was a step down for the first two, I have to say.

But this post leads me to believe you don't watch Lost or Mad Men.

Yeah, season two has been my favorite. No, I never got into Lost or Mad Men, though I'm curious about the second after seeing clips and the main actor on SNL (he was really funny).
