Copy/pasting what I said in the comments of the video itself:

This was very cool. The fight choreography was phenomenal and the special effects are fantastic for what is just a YouTube video. This is also possibly the best thing I've seen by James Van Der Beek.

Three criticisms, though:
1) The pacing on this was a little too fast, so I was a little lost on who everyone was supposed to be. I didn't know Van Der Beek was Rocky until the credits sequence, for example.

2) The villains should have also been wearing some kind of silly outfit or at least something to make them recognizable to whom they were supposed to be representing. The only ones I recognized were Bulk & Skull because of the unique outfits they wore.

3) I personally think there was an over-reliance on the swearing and the violence in order to show how "dark" and "mature" this was. I don't have a problem with swearing and violence in general, just when it's done so excessively like this. A few more clever lines - like perhaps references to the old show - rather than swearing would've gone a long way.

It's a little odd they chose to go with Tommy vs Rocky in the end instead of Jason vs Rocky for Red vs Red, but otherwise, I thought it was fun.

Huh, I assumed that was like, some kind of character he does. Guess not!

Was machine empire in the show? I don't really remember them but it kinda sounds right.

There was a machine empire in one of the seasons, but they weren't lead by Rita or Zed.

What swearing? I didn't here one "frak" in the whole video.

Wouldn't it have been awesome if they got Jason David Frank to play Tommy? He's the right age now, and he's got the "been through hell and back" look too.

Jason David Frank has been pitching a Green Ranger solo movie to Saban for years. This tells me that he not only doesn't understand the point of the show he's been doing off and on for 20 years, but that he's perfectly willing to throw other actors under the bus just to turn himself into a brand.
