American and Chinese scientists are flabbergasted after discovering a giant 298-million-year-old forest buried intact under a coal mine near Wuda, in Inner Mongolia, China. They are calling it the Pompeii of the Permian period because, like the ancient Roman city, it was covered and preserved by volcanic ash.
Really neat find. Of course, like anything that has to do with anything involving anything older than 2000 years, the entire comments section is an "evolution/creation" out-retard match.

Anyone who thinks arguing in those comment threads is worthwhile is an idiot, no matter which side of the argument they're on.

That said: this is probably one of the most awesome things I've heard in a while!

Hey guys, I found something amazing, can we argue about something that has nothing to do with it?

It's a rule of the internet. Any science, psuedo-science, or really any website that posts anything that has anything to with anything old is immediately a shit slinging idiot fest starring the idiot man baby children of Richard Dawkins and whoever his religious counterpart is.

I know! I saw the mock ups and I was like "What is this crap? I wanna see the real deal, yo!" They might be keeping those under wraps though, until they get further along in/conclude their study.

If they find preserved animal remains as well, I'm not sure words will be sufficient to describe the magnitude of this find.
