Rant VIII: The Reckoning

made a large cyber-monday anime order with Funimation. Said order was completed and money was exchanged, said order then was canceled, put in limbo(because the products were OOS) then shipped today apparently. The courier is OMworldwide, the tracking number does not work on their website. this has been a nightmare and I am waiting for it to get much worse.

So tired of people treating my wife like they can stomp on her and she'll just take it. Because she will. She never reports stuff to the police because it was drilled into her head by her abusive parents that no one would ever believe her.

Something I realized recently about several of my major exes throughout my life.

Several of them met the guy they'd go on to marry immediately after they were with me.

1) My high school sweetheart left me for a guy she only knew on the internet. They got married

2) A girl I was with for 3 years (living together for 2) married the guy she met through our neighbours after we broke up. Or I think they met while we were still together but didn't pursue anything.

3) A gal I was with for about 6 months in Toronto just got engaged to the guy she met after me.

It reminds of a really terrible Dane Cook "comedy" where he had this curse that every woman he slept with would then meet the man they'd marry shortly after. Everyone I've been with moves on so quickly after me and I struggle for years to find another poor sucker that will put up with me.

And I just...keep fucking up.

For what it's worth, you're making the right call in respect to your last relationship. You really do need to focus on you right now :)

Don't read if you're Nick.
Hey, good news for Alyx!

(yes, I know that's cruel and too soon. I told you not to read this! But sorry anyway.)

If it helps you, my former girlfriend and my three former crushes that never quite led anywhere all turned lesbian after their encounters with me (or fully embraced the female side of their bisexuality and are now in committed relationships with women, I guess I should say). Perhaps one of us is the sequel to the other?

You're a fucking asshole. Apology not accepted.
You know I often make crass/in bad taste/too soon jokes or comments; just like Grue or PatrThom can. It's why I clearly and very visibly put it behind a spoiler warning saying you probably shouldn't read it. Seeing something labelled "this can be offensive", reading it, and being offended, is on the reader, not the one posting it. Go look at the NSFW thread at work, get fired, and come complain, same situation. Not my fault you don't/can't/won't curb your curiosity. Also, it's not even a personal attack on you, only an observation about another member of this board. I wish her well, and if she does end up finding the man of her life now, that's only good for her. It's in no way meant as an attack on you, even though I figured you'd read it as one.
Feel offended because I wished an ex of yours well, or don't feel offended - it's not my issue.

You made a joke at my expense while I'm feeling emotional. Fuck off. And what ignorant moron labels something "Hey! You specific person! Don't read this!" and expect them not to click on it?

Roll with it. Everyone has been through break-ups, and felt like total shit. No need to interpret every seemingly cross-wise glance as a personal attack and lash out. Just chill, nobody here is out to get you.

The "joke" was inconsiderate, and uncalled for.

Still trying to find out what's more disheartening than trying to help your father sort out whether or not to divorce your mom.

Real conversation between myself and my mom.

Mom: Do you think I should divorce your dad?

Me: I... really don't think I'm the right person to ask that.

My mom: Sometimes I wish I had somewhere to go so I wasn't trapped here.

Me: First off, thanks. Secondly, you know how when I was 14 you nearly died from a ruptured polyp, you were in the ICU for nearly 2 months, had a colostomy for years, had a series of major surgeries to slowly recover over the next decade, suffered some brain damage, and have basically had somewhat fragile health since?

Mom: Um, yeah?

Me: Well, dad never fucking once balked at taking care of you during all that time. No matter how tired he was, no matter how tight things were. He made sure to take care of you. And me and my sister had to give up a lot of our free time as teenagers to help take care of the family too, since you couldn't do a lot of things anymore and you basically needed constant supervision.

Mom: Yeah, I was a huge burden, what's your point?

Me: My point is, maybe you don't feel appreciated, maybe you feel like dad isn't providing you with everything you think you want. But when it fucking mattered, he was there for you like no one else in the world. Maybe think about that, okay? A lot of people just leave when it gets too much. He didn't. So grow the fuck up.
