When your perception of time is altered by your lifespan being several millennia, sometimes you're a little slow on catching dropped hints.
For some reason this show has really resonated with the neurodivergent.

I'm watching Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, and it sure is a spectacle, but it strikes me that almost every single character is a complete and total asshole, fully believes that they need to be an asshole for the good of everyone around them, and quite frequently whines about how people aren't praising them for being an asshole.

I've also been watching My Hero Academia , and I really like it. At first I was comparing it a lot to Naruto, but I think the characters have a lot more depth, and the show does a better job of exploring the world and the characters' place in it. Naruto feels like it's world exists just as a setup for the fights, while MHA feels like the fights are more of an extension of the characters and plot.
Take two of the rival characters as a comparison. There are a lot of superficial similarities between Sasuke and Bakugou. They're both angry, egotistical prodigies with an irrational hatred towards the main character (who get kidnapped by the villains during a story arc). Sasuke is just a cardboard cutout compared to Bakugou, though. He's an obstacle for Naruto to overcome in order to progress. Bakugou, however, is a different type of rival. He's a benchmark that Midoriya measures himself against, and vice versa. They both grow as characters because of the other. Naruto and Sasuke just get more powerful, their characters don't progress because of their rivalry, only their move-sets do.

The only real off casting for me is Luna, who sounds like an "older sister", Michelle Ruff did a fantastic job, but Jill Frappier in the 90's has the iconic pseudo-British thing going on. compared to the JP VA's Ruff is closer, Luna is only barely an adult herself in the story. I loved the rest of the castings and writing. I sense the return is due to Cartoon Network's production studios gutting via the entire WB tear down thats ongoing. The Strongest Tank's Labyrinth Raids - Rating: Skip
This is a "hey me too" low effort anime trying to bandwagon on the recent "kicked out of the hero's party" anime trend. The tropes are transparent, the writing is lazy, and the translation is almost 90s bad. Recommended only for those who have watched everything else, have time to waste, and can't imagine doing anything else with their life than watching low-grade bandwagon anime.

This is a "hey me too" low effort anime trying to bandwagon on the "I reincarnated as a weak monster and became a power fantasy" anime trend. It's slightly more amusing than Strongest Tank, but just like "Demon Lord: Retry!" was trying and failing to be Overlord, this anime tries and fails to be Reincarnated as aSlime Goblin.
A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics - Rating: Skip
A reverse isekai in which the magic-girl princess of another world and her bodyguard are forced to flee into modern day Japan to escape the downfall of their nation... and quickly become a detective's assistant and a homeless cult member, respectively? I'm not really sure where this is going, but it's really too mid for me to make it farther than halfway through the season.
As a Reincarnated Aristocrat (long title snipped) - Rating: Skip
This is a "hey me too" low effort anime trying to bandwagon on the "I got reborn in another world with an overpowered unconventional skill" anime trend, which was already done better a half dozen times. It's not even the first one to do so as an aristocrat.
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 - Rating: Watch
The archetypical Reincarnation Isekai largely responsible for all the isekai copycats - this is the gold standard they're all trying (and most of which are failing) to replicate. They really caught lightning in a bottle with this one. Season 2 continues to be good.
Apothecary Diaries - Rating: Watch
It's not an isekai or even a "game-rules" anime! A young apothecary's apprentice is kidnapped and sold into servitude in the rear palace in ancient china. Extremely well done, compelling characters, excellent writing, beautiful artwork. Strong contender for Anime of the Year yere.
The New Gate - Rating: Skip
Pains me to say it, as I was a huge fan of the Manga, but speaking objectively, this series is pretty much only for... well, people who were a huge fan of the Manga. Other than the pacing being a little off, I don't have much to complain about, but I can definitely tell this will fail to land with most people because it tries to be too many things, most of those concepts having been better explored individually in more specific hooks for other shows. It's an isekai, it's a "trapped in a game," it's an unapologetic power fantasy, it's a harem, and it has little to no self awareness. Might be good for someone just starting out who had never seen Sword Art or Log Horizon or Mushoku Tensei or Overlord or.... yeah.
Konosuba! Season 3 - Rating: Watch
It's more Konosuba. But it is starting to wear on me, I think this might be it for me tbh. But I can tell it's objectively the same good stuff as the previous 3 seasons. But as with anything episodic in nature, there's no character growth and you can tell there never will be, because that would undo what makes Konosuba work - the fact that all the main characters are horrible useless garbage-people.
The Unwanted Undead Adventurer - Rating: Skip
A not particularly strong guy gets killed in the dungeon and comes back to life as an undead, and finds that he can still level up to become stronger and better able to conceal his nature. It has some interesting points, and is on the upper side of "mid," but it just never finds that magic spark that takes it from "decent timewaster" to "must see TV."
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic - Rating: Skip
They tried to clean up all the objectionable stuff in "Redo of Healer" and accidentally scrubbed out all the interesting stuff along with it. It's downright tedious.

Haven't watched Solo Leveling yet (I've had bad luck with Korean-based Anime and it's left a bad taste in my mouth), but FWIW, the Unwanted Undead Adventurer ends up grouping. So not quite "solo" leveling.
