@bhamv3 - Check in, please!

Is there anyone else in Taiwan that we know of?

Great, now I have Smooth Criminal stuck in my head, except Michael Jackson's singing my forum handle.

Anyway, all fine here, thanks for asking. :) It was relatively mild here in Taipei. My wife was slightly panicky, but I was in the middle of brushing my teeth so I didn't even feel it at first. It was bigger than the ones we've had over the last few days, but still not the worst I've felt. I didn't even know things were that bad in Hualien (which is on the east coast of Taiwan, beautiful place) until I got up this morning and turned on the news.

As far as earthquakes go, this one would be on the upper end of a mid-level one by Taiwan standards, I think. A few deaths, a bunch of injuries, which are definitely tragic, but on the whole we'll be okay pretty soon.

Heh, almost exactly 24 hours later we get another aftershock.

These are good things, by the way. A bunch of small quakes releases stored energy in the plates, so they don't result in one big quake.
