[Bug] Remember when searches could be filtered by user?

I can plug a search term into the search bar and, so long as I haven't chosen one of the top 800-or-so words in the English language, I get a list of posts containing that word. But I remember a time when I could get only the posts by a particular user in that results list by entering their username in that other box. What changed?

Instead of 'search everything' click on 'search threads and posts'. It works for me.

That wasn't really a workaround... to my knowledge. It's what it's always defaulted to every time I click 'search forums'. I didn't even know the other options where there until I tried to recreate your problem.

Ah, you're also using the advanced search. I was just talking about the usual drop-down search you get without having to go to the dedicated search form page.

It has it, sure. But when you try to use it by filling in a user's name, that filter is apparently ignored, returning results from all users.
That's the bug I'm reporting.
Clicking the "Search Forums" tab brings you to the same place as when you choose "More..." from the drop-down form you quoted.

I can't seem to replicate it. Adding in a name in the "posted by member" field returns only results posted by that member.

I typed "advanced" in the search box, set it to show only posts by PatrThom, clicked search, and it showed me only this post:

Can't replicate problem either, seems to work as intended (that is, I can search for "academy" by "GasBandit" and just get load sand loads of posts about some sort of softporn video thing )
