Wtf? Is this the level of political commentary you usually have? Did they joke on the left version of this kind of programs making Bush a fascist?

No wonder the protests are so rude and the situation so tense :S

No, the Daily show already had that market cornered.

This is a "fake news" program by the way (as the daily show is) on Comedy Central.

tegid.. you do realize that's a Comedy show, right?

RIGHT?!
MAN of course I do! I just didn't express myself properly.

I understand this isn't political commentary per se, but I dunno the socialism references surprised me.

I'm so tired these days I can't think clearly. Please forget it! :waah:

The socialist references are there, in jest, because the ACTUAL right has called Obama socialist. There were even actual posters in this forum that said that since Obama won it was now "Amerika".

Well, to be fair, posters that represent politicians as "insert pretty much anything" are hardly new... I mean, it's like the ACTUAL left compared Bush to Hitler or called America "AmeriKKKA" in the last 8 years, especially on these forums.
So yes, that is and has been the level of political discourse for many years now although it seems like almost nobody noticed it until recently...

I find most members of the left are incapable of laughing at themselves, and because of that you wind up in situations like these where even though the show is mocking the right they get offensive because it hints at something that may be considered a joke about them.

The only reason the republicans can laugh at themselves is because they ARE a joke.
