[Question] Gifs in Chrome

Ok, I'm fairly sure this isn't really this board's problem but in Chrome...But the gif thread is horribly slow in Chrome, both at work and at home. It loads no problem in IE. No matter how long I wait, the gifs simply keep going horrendously slow. A couple of gifs, no problem, but more on a page and they all just slow allll the way down.
Is there any way to prevent this? It'sa bit silly to read one sole thread in another browser

Chrome's a freakin memory hog, I've noticed - it's why at work I have to use firefox, though at home I prefer Chrome. You might try an extension like Gif Delayer or Gif Scrubber and see if that helps.

...or just keep a second browser handy for when it's needed.

The problem has been noticed. Chrome's handling of gifs does now officially suck.

I was able to get a slight improvement of performance by going into about:flags and turning on impl painting (outside of process painting) but it isn't a complete fix.

In the meantime, sucks to be a chrome user who likes gifs :/
