[NCAAF] 2018 College Football Season

Warhawks clinched the WIAC title outright with a 59-7 drubbing of the Pointers from UW-Stevens Point. Warhawks have yet to surrender more than 10 points in a game this year, pitching three shutouts (though one of them was an NAIA "team") and no more than a single TD in the rest of the games.

UWW (9-0, 6-0 conference) is ranked 5th in the d3football.com poll and wraps up WIAC play Saturday at Platteville.

Well, in case Maryland is thinking they're too big to fail, they might want to take a look at what's going on with Gymnastics USA and the USOC.

Tuck Fexas and Bow Down before the Dawg Father.
After today's developments, I fear I can no longer call out the Washington Huskies. It's a sad day for WSU fandom (not really), but some things are more important. So... FTFM... I guess.

Sessions' replacement - Whitaker - played tight end for the Iowa Hawkeyes, who lost the 1991 Rose Bowl to the Washington Huskies.

...wait, why was this thread not up there? I got so confused!

Anyways: the important news of the weekend is that UW-Whitewater went UNDEFEATED in the regular season (10-0, 7-0 WIAC)!

In reality, the Warhawks are in the midst of taking care of their 1st round opponents, the Eureka Red Devils. 67-14 with less than 30 seconds to go.

Next week is gonna be... interesting. We play cross-state rivals St. Norbert's. Good thing this isn't hockey, of course...

For the 310th time since I first matriculated at Wisconsin-Whitewater, the Warhawks football team won a football game. This time it was the Regional Quarterfinals over cross-state rivals St. Norbert's College, 54-21. Of the six games we've play against them since 1985, the last four have all been playoff games - and all have been blowouts (192-45 over those last four).

The Warhawks will face Bethel College of Minnesota in the Quarterfinals of the Stagg Bowl tournament next week (likely at Perkins Stadium).

What conference is Liberty planning on joining in DI? And what's the likelihood that whatever conference it is will be inundated with protests about allowing Liberty to play in its conference?

They aren't joining a conference. No conference would take them. That's traditionally a requirement for going to FBS, but they threatened to sue the NCAA and expose their dirty laundry so the NCAA caved before it could go to court.

So Will Grier is sitting out the bowl game. If the bowl officials had any balls, they'd withdraw the invitation. Any incentive for fans to travel to Orlando now is right out the window.

...so that's what a Mary Hardin-Baylor is. :(

31-14 final. So much for another Stagg Bowl. MHB will take on the Other Purple Team for the D3 title.

So you say your team didn't get invited to a Bowl Game, and your season's over.

Well, there's always... THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA AT FAIRBURN FIGHTIN' PANDAS!

There's an unfortunate quote in the ESPN article about UH's new hire.
Added Pezman: "Schools that have had that person, like T. Boone Pickens [at Oklahoma State]... or Drayton McLane at Baylor, when you have those people, that's when you have a chance to separate yourself from everybody else. I'm not naïve in understanding the significance of that for us."
He's referring to Tilman Fertitta, UH's super donor. But do you really want to compare yourself to Baylor right now?

@Gared, this is in your wheelhouse. Have at it.

I hate Clemson but I hate Alabama more. So I was satisfied. But I'd rather neither team have been there.
