[Rant] Minor Rant III: For a Few Hollers More

I'm sorry Adam!

Now, I don't feel so bad about the 2" we got.

I was crossing my fingers so hard that it would hold out until after Halloween...

It was like 18C here yesterday. I was driving with the windows down. Today it's colder and wetter but still definitely above freezing.

So, I started a new job last week. That's good news.
The bad news is that my work laptop? POS.
Vista (I could finish there I suppose), with only 1 GB of RAM. I've been tempted everyday to slam it into the wall. Why would they even make a laptop to run Vista with less that 2 GB of RAM???

We ordered some additional memory for the two laptops after my second day. I happen to be an IT guy (the job is not in IT) and my supervisor didn't know too much about computers. He knew they were painfully slow, so as soon as I had a solution he jumped on it. Hopefully it arrives soon.

I only have 4 GB in my rig at home (Win7) and I don't feel slow at all, games included.

10" of snow last night

I know everyone will think I am crazy because "zOMG you are living in Hawaii", but I really really miss snow, autumn leaves, and defined seasons. I want to jump into this picture and roll around in the snow. It makes me sad that my 7-year-old has never made a snowman or experienced how good a cup of cocoa is on a day like the one in the picture.[DOUBLEPOST=1351017693][/DOUBLEPOST]Also - Eating soup when it's 85 outside is not as enjoyable either.

I'm sure someone around here would be willing to work out a deal where you could exchange living conditions for two weeks with them. You get to experience changing weather patterns, and they get to experience pleasant weather patterns.

Yeah I used to like having different seasons and all that, then I had to go to college with no car. I wouldn't mind never seeing rain or snow again.

I'm counting on a white Christmas. It's not freezing here yet, but I would take some snow over the damn drizzles any day. You can't go for a little hike in the rain...

Changing seasons serve only to remind me that time is continuing to pass while my life and goals remain in arrested development.

Snow is the one thing I miss about moving here from southern ontario, well, one arbitrary thing. Certainly some people I miss.

It will snow like 3 inches, which is a generous assesment, that will stay on the ground for 3-4 days, a week tops, and this entire island shuts down. Everyone bundles up like it's -30, not barely below freezing. Public transit shuts down. Schools close. Cars are abandoned. It's kinda madness.

I've been having pretty decent weather so far. So the storm that'll hit us will probably be FUCKING HUGE! Don't try to trick me weather, I know your game! You act all nice and calm, AND THEN YOU GO CRAZY! I got my eyes on you weather.
